Thankfully, each step of the Paradox Soul Reaper progression method is simple. You’ll soon be obtaining your Vizard Mask in Paradox.

Soul Reapers can wield Shikai in battle, which you can learn more about with my Paradox Shikai Types guide.

Paradox Soul Reaper Progression

Level up, reach the required Potential, and become a true Soul Reaper.

Reaper Exam

When reaching Potential 75, you cannot progress until you complete the Soul Reaper Exam. To do this, you must go to Soul Society and visit the Division House, which is a yellow building at the top right of Soul Society.

Head into the classroom where the Professor resides and sit down at a desk to take the test. If you pass, you graduate, then you’re an official Shinigami.

Unlocking Your Shikai

At Potential 200, you can work towards unlocking your Shikai. Once you hit 200, press the N key on your keyboard to begin. Keep in mind that the Shikai you wield, at least at first, is randomly assigned to you.

All Shikai moves have a drop rate chance, going from Legendary (1%), Rare (10%), and Common (89%).

Stage 1

A short mini-game appears, where you must press the numbers on your keyboard to match those that appear on the screen.

Stage 2

Another mini-game. For this one, you have to press the numbers on your keyboard once again, but this time you should only do so when there’s a circle over the one you need to select, once it reaches the centre. The numbers are displayed in a row at the bottom of your screen, similar to rhythm games like Guitar Hero.

Stage 3

After the second mini-game, you’re pulled into a boss fight. This boss is fairly easy to counter as it’s essentially a clone of yourself, and utilises the same abilities that you have. It unleashes its Shikai around the mid-point of the battle, so beware of that.

After beating the boss, you unlock a Shikai for yourself.

Obtaining Vizard

The next step is getting to Potential 500. In Soul Society, or Karakura Town, there is an NPC called Jamaster. You need to speak with him to begin the Vizard quest.

Your task is to retrieve a Mask Remnant, which is a potential drop from the Eternal Flame game mode. This mode features 50 waves in total, and you obtain rewards every 5 waves.

After collecting a Mask Remnant, speak with Jamaster again to continue the questline. He asks you to:

  • Defeat 50 Shinigami
  • Win Ranked 20 times

Following on from these requirements, you then need to complete his trials before you unlock Vizard. Make sure to visit Karakura Town to find the Ender NPC, who grants you a skill exclusive to Vizard players.

As a Vizard player, you gain a 15% buff to your DMG, and upon pop, you replenish 20% of your HP and Reiatsu.

Vizard Variants

You can reroll your mask variant by using a Vizard Mask Reroll!

How to Unlock Your Bankai

To get your Bankai, you need to reach Potential 705 before fulfilling the other requirements. Once you’re Potential hits 705, you need to:

  1. Be gripped 10 times by NPCs and players of different races
  2. Pay a visit to Kisuke to battle against him in Karakura
  3. After defeating Kisuke, speak to your Bankai Spirit
  4. Visit your Bankai Spirit in Soul Society and complete each trial
  5. Upon the completion of all trials, you unlock your Bankai
