Hollows have one of the most involved progressions of all races in Paradox. They experience multiple evolutions that completely alter their physical appearance and capabilities. At any point during evolution, you’ll have the option to pull off your Hollow Mask and become an Arrancar. However, the longer you leave it on, the stronger an Arrancar you’ll become. This first stage keeps it simple, with the only goal being to gain Soul Points from killing other Hollows. On average, each Hollow kill awards 3-4 Soul Points. However, you’ll also earn around 5 Soul Points by completing a simple card minigame.
After consuming enough Soul Points, you’ll automatically evolve into a Menos. These horrifyingly tall beasts move slowly, and, similar to the Fishbone, have one simple requirement to evolve again. Survive! After becoming a Menos, an hour-timer begins, where you must survive without letting other Hollows or players bully you to death. This timer speeds up if you manage to get kills, but that comes at the risk of dying…
After an hour (or less), you’ll shrink down a size and become an Adjuchas. At this point, players sometimes remove their Masks to become an Arrancar, or they might progress further to become a stronger Arrancar at a later evolution. To progress again, you’ll need to earn more Soul Points. However, this time it’ll be far more tedious than when you were a humble Fishbone.
This is the last stop on the evolution train before becoming an Arrancar, which has no further evolution. So, all you’re able to do at this point is tear off your mask and become a lethal Arrancar! Or, try your hand at surviving as a True Hollow and see how far you can progress.
After ripping off the mask at any of the prior stages, you’ll become a fully-fledged Arrancar.
