Curious about the One Piece Treasure Cruise Gloom debuff? Well, this guide contains all you need to know about Gloom – also confusingly known as Despair.

One Piece Treasure Cruise is a game based on the manga One Piece. The game itself features tap-based battles that attempt to re-create iconic scenes from the comic series and the animated show. The combat itself is easy to pick up, but difficult to master, as it utilises a combo based system. You can create a crew and add to it from the diverse character selection, made up of main and supporting characters.

One Piece Treasure Cruise Gloom Guide

Now, let’s delve deeper into Gloom, the Despair debuff.

What is Gloom?

So, here’s where it gets a little bit confusing. Gloom is a term that is used in place of Despair – with the latter being the main way that One Piece Treasure Cruis refers to it. Apparently, it can also be called “Silence” too.

What Does Gloom Do?

Gloom (or Despair) can silence a captain, removing their capabilities of performing moves as well as disabling their effects – includiung HP multipliers. Units that have been silenced by Gloom can still be used in battle to deal damage to the enemy.

It’s important to note that if you’re using a captain that can buff HP, your HP will be cut in half.

Despair Reduction

If a unit has the ability to use Despair Reduction, they can remove the Despair/Gloom debuff or reduce the duration. Obtaining a unit with Despair Reduction can be extremely useful when facing enemies who can deal Gloom – this is because Gloom/Despair heavily reduces damage dealt and overall HP.
