GAME OVERVIEW

  • This game has 6 chapters. Each chapter contains a variety of mini games, puzzles and scenes in which you hunt for objects.
  • This is a timed game, there is no option for turning off the timer. In some cases you have to complete several levels with only 35 minutes to solve all of them.
  • If you run out of time during the game, you will have to start back from the beginning of that particular section. Make sure that you pause the game before you leave it so that you don’t run out of time accidentally.
  • The timer is not running in those times when you are reading the story or reading the instructions.

HINTS

  • You start each group of screens with 2 hints. In order to get more hints you have to wait for them to recharge.
  • If you did not use a hint for a while, it seems like the hints keep recharging themselves. In a couple of instances I had 3 hints, used one and it recharged immediately.
  • Each time you use a hint you lose 100 points.
  • When you click on a hint, you will see a circle around a random item from your list. You will also see the name of the item flash on the screen.
  • Sometimes it can be hard to determine where the item is but a good rule of thumb is that the item is usually somewhere in the middle of the circle.
  • If you’re in the Scavenger Hunt mode and you use a hint for an item that is not available in that section, the hint will take you to the map section. At that point choose another location to search.
  • The same thing will happen if you’re looking for an item on a scrolling screen. The screen will move to the location of the item on your list.
  • SPOILER ALERT!! The following section contains a walkthrough for all the puzzles in the game. If you do not wish to know the solutions, please stop reading now.
  • All the explanations for the mini games have been placed in the guide in the order of their appearance.

CHAPTER ONE-SHADOWS OF THE PAST

EXAMINING THE CODEX

  • You will have a list of items at the bottom of the page, you have to find the items on the list in the main page.
  • The scene is contained within 2 pages so make sure that you use the arrow keys to toggle back and forth between scenes.
  • The solution to this puzzle may be random, results may vary depending on your game.

THE JAGUAR’S EYE CODEX

  • Your goal in this game is to translate the Aztec writing by figuring out which word a particular symbol represents.
  • On the puzzle that is on the right side of the page you will see some symbols. Some symbols will have words underneath them and others will not.
  • It is your job to basically fill in the blanks with the right words.
  • At the bottom of the page you will be given hints on what a symbol does NOT mean. That information helps you decide on an answer by process of elimination.
  • To obtain more hints, click on the hint button that is at the bottom of the page.
  • To select a word with a matching symbol, simply place a green check mark in the section that it belongs to. To place a check mark, just click twice in the spot that you want to place it.
  • To erase the check mark, just click on it again.
  • In order to make it easier for you, you can use a red "X" to eliminate certain spots from being chosen.
  • Once you made a choice in one of the rows or columns, place an "X" in the spots that the item does not belong to.
  • In my experience the answer stays the same for everyone but the symbols themselves may change in any given puzzle.

FAMILY PHOTOS

  • In this puzzle you must put the picture back together by arranging the photo pieces in the right places.
  • This is like a regular jigsaw puzzle but with a twist. The twist is that when you arrange the pictures, some of the pieces will be overlapping and you will have to adjust the pieces with a "+" or "-" sign.
  • Drag the pieces that are on the left side of the page onto the box that is on the left side.
  • In order for the pictures to fit you have to overlap the pieces.
  • You have to use the plus and minus signs to adjust the pieces. If the pieces are yellow, just leave them alone because once you pick up your next piece, the pictures will adjust themselves.
  • If you cannot see any part of the picture and all you see are black and white lines, then use the plus and minus sign to adjust the picture.
  • Please watch the videos provided below so you can get a better idea of what to do.
