General tips:

  • In later levels, you don’t have a chance unless you can chain pick-ups together and keep your multiplier going. If you’re not 100% sure that what you’re about to click on is a shell, it’s better not to click on it at all and lose a few points than risk clicking on a broken shell or piece of junk and losing your multiplier.
  • Shells may be partially hidden underneath other objects like rocks and seaweed.
  • Look for clumps of sand that are darker than the sand around it – this sand can be brushed away to often reveal hidden shells.
  • If possible, don’t use the Hourglass medallion until right before you’re ready to pick up the last shell. You’ll get more bonus points if your time bar is full at the end of the level.
  • When the wave first appears at the top of the screen, you can see silhouettes of shapes underneath the water including medallions, statue pieces and shells. Pay attention to where these shapes travel to, because after the wave recedes the objects will be lying in roughly the same place.
