Welcome to our walkthrough for Mystery Cookbook.

If you liked the movie Ratatouille, you might get a kick out of this game.  It is not as difficult a HOG as some of the dark ones where you can’t see what you’re doing or those with too much stuff to sift through to find what you need. Max the Mouse is on a quest to become a famous chef.

GENERAL TIPS

  • Each Stage starts off with 2 pieces of cheese if you run out.  Cheese is important because it gets you more “hints”.  Cheese may or may not be included in the items you need to find.  I’ve tried to include the cheese I found but might have missed a few.
  • Each Stage has 3 parts I have called “Scenes”, except Stage 12 which has 4 scenes.
  • Clicking randomly will get you a penalty and eat up your time.
  • Scenes with matching two sides of the screen will change every time so I can’t help you with the items.  If you have a problem finding the differences, just replay the stage until you find one that works for you so you don’t have to use up all your cheese.
  • The order of lists and silhouettes will change each time you play or if you replay a stage/scene.
  • As you remove items other items will become more apparent.  Those items circled in blue are the last item on the list and will always be behind the item just prior.

ITEM HINTS

  • Silhouettes can be smaller or larger than the actual item and may not be in the exact direction as the actual item.
  • Some words may not be what you expect:
  • Milk can be a bottle, carton or glass.
  • Kettle mostly means a maroon teapot.
  • Onion can be green or white. Green onions can be called onion, leeks or chives.
  • Cucumber is actually a pickle.
  • Napkin can be a napkin holder or a single napkin.
  • Watermelon can be a slice or a whole melon.
  • Spoon can be a teaspoon or a ladle.
  • Vegetable oil can be a straight-sided bottle or a fancy round one with a long top.
  • A glass pitcher is sometimes called a coffeepot.
  • Thermos can be straight-sided or look like a stainless steel cocktail shaker.
  • Lettuce can be a head or leaves in a bowl.
  • Marmalade candies are chewy fruit candies with sugar on top.
  • Pie looks like a cheese round in a wood box with the lid tilting off.
  • Can is a glass mason jar without the lid.
  • Spatula is a pie server.
  • Eggs can be in shell or cracked open with shell still there.
