Game Introduction – Monster Life

Monster Story is a monster zoo simulation game from TeamLava, in where you can create a habitat for monsters of all shapes and sizes to coexist and thrive! With Gamezebo’s quick start guide, you’ll have all of the tips, tricks, and walkthroughs you’ll need to make your habitat the best one around.

Quick Start Guide

Getting Started

Monster Story

  • To get playing Monster Story as quickly as possible, click the “Play Now” button at the top of this screen. The game is free to play, so there’s no risk to trying the game out for yourself.
  • Monster Story is a game that utilizes push notifications for the purposes of letting you know when certain tasks are completed in the game. Upon the first time you start the game, you will be asked whether or not you’d like these notifications. If you decide you don’t like them later, you can change it in the game’s settings.

Monster Story

  • The first character we are introduced to in Monster Story is Captain Reynolds, who happens to be the one that has discovered this monster paradise. The captain will help you with simple tasks as you learn them.

Making Monsters

Monster Story

  • One of the first tasks we’ll need to learn is how to bring monsters to life so that they can live in your world. Tap on the empty nest to get started.
  • Tapping on the nest brings up a menu that has an “Add Egg” option. Tapping on that brings up the full menu of monster options for that particular nest. This being the beginning of the game, we only have the “Blue Blob” available to use.
  • Tap on the “Blue Blob” to place the egg in the nest. It will then take a few seconds for the blob to hatch.
  • Now that we have a Blue Blob available for use, we need to make sure that it has a habitat before it can be taken out of the nest.

  • Tap on the “Market” button in the lower right corner of the screen, then on the “Habitats” button to be shown the list of habitats you can purchase. The general rule when it comes to the type of habitat to purchase is to go by color.
  • For the Blue Blob we have, we’ll need a Blue Marsh. Tap on the Marsh to begin placing it on the island.
  • Now you will be taken into placement mode, where you can decide precisely where to put down the habitat.

Monster Story

  • You can drag the building around until you have decided on a permanent location for it. When you are satisfied with the habitat’s location, go ahead and click “Place” to put it down permanently.
  • After placing down a habitat or any other building, it will take time for it to complete. If you do not wish to wait for the construction to be completed, you can spend gold to have it finished immediately. Beware though; gold is only bought with real money so it’s probably best if you saved it until you really need it.

  • When the habitat is built, you are then ready to deal with the egg that is ready to hatch. Tap on the egg, then on “Place in Habitat”, then on the habitat to place the egg in it.
  • Now you will see that your blob is grown and can move around on its own.

Feeding Monsters

  • Just as with any other living thing, monsters require food to stay healthy and alive. Let’s go over how to grow food and how to feed it to your monsters.

Monster Story

  • Tap on the farm that should already be on your island. If you don’t have a farm, you can purchase and place one from the market just as you would a habitat.

Monster Story

  • Tap on “Plant” to choose which kind of food you want to plant on your farms. At the start of the game, you will only be able to choose from Spineapples. Spineapples cost 50 coins to produce, take 30 seconds to grow and will supply you with 10 food.
  • Once you’ve planted the food, you will need to wait for the crop to grow, and then come back to collect the spoils. Just as with construction, you can spend gold if you don’t want to wait for the food to grow.

Monster Story

  • Once you have food from the farm, you can go back to a habitat that has a monster in it. Tap on the habitat, and then on the name of the monster.
  • When you are in the monster’s screen, you can see details about the monster and how many coins per hour it produces. You can change that by feeding the monster causing it to level up.

Monster Story

  • Tap on “Feed” to start feeding the monster. Notice on the level bar that the level will increase each time you feed the monster.
  • Once you’ve fed the monster enough times, it will gain a level which will cause it to alter appearance, and gain you additional coins per hour. For instance, my Blue Blob went from earning 80 coins per hour to 180. That’s quite a gain, so make sure to upgrade your monsters whenever possible.

Completing Goals

Monster Story

  • An alternate way to earn money in the game is to complete goals that are given to you by the captain.
  • They will occasionally popup while playing, but the main way to access them is by tapping on the quest book on the left side of the screen. Doing so will list all of the quests currently available to you.
  • To complete a quest, all you have to do is complete whichever tasks are in each. An example of a quest is “Monster Mouths” which asks you to plant Spineapples and harvest them. Easy, right?
  • Once you’ve completed the quest, a popup will alert you of such, and you can then tap on Collect to reap the rewards of completing it. The “Monster Mouths” quest awards you with 100 food and 1 XP, for instance.

Congratulations!
