Monster Hunter Now is the latest entry in the Monster Hunter franchise! However, this one is a little different when compared to the rest. Niantic, the company that developed Pokémon GO is behind this brand-new project. It’s basically IRL Monster Hunter – what’s not to love? Hunt monsters using augmented technology and collect a variety of powerful weapons to help you along the way. Players can also unite with friends in battles against the more powerful foes in this ever-evolving game.

You can learn more about it on the official site. We also recommend checking out our Monster Hunter Now Guide, or maybe our Monster Hunter Now Tier List, how about this Monster Hunter Now Weapons Guide, or Monster Hunter Now Great Sword build guide?

Monster Hunter Now Hammer Build

You’ve SLAMMED your way down to where we tell you the deets!

Best Hammer Builds

Of course, as goes with any weapon that you can wield, the best hammer will be one with elemental advantage against your foe. Utilizing the monster’s weakness to your advantage helps you secure a win, and quicker! (If you’re the type of player to strive for battle medals). To determine the best Hammer build there are some factors to consider first. Different hammers will be imbued with elements, these will cause elemental weakness damage boosts to certain monsters.

You also want to keep your Special Skill in mind. These are lethal attacks you can use when facing off against monsters. Special Skills are unique to each weapon type and can be carried over to other weapons of the same category. So, with those in consideration, let’s get into the Hammers!

Quick side-note first, we also covered Monster Hunter Now Great Sword build!

Crushing Beak

Ouch! This hammer is the max upgrade for the Kulu Beak. This hammer is unique in the sense that it thrives off your fainting. So, if you’re facing off against a powerful high-rank monster, or are a clumsy fighter, you may benefit from its maximum 40% boost damage generated from your fainting!

  • Attack: 1,596
  • Element: None
  • Special: None
  • Affinity: 30%
  • Special Skill: Spinning Bludgeon
  • Equipment Skill: Fortify

Buon Fiore

This beast of a hammer is the final upgrade to the Blooming Hammer. It deals insane offensive damage with a Poison edge. This hammer is great for players in the habit of dodge-rolling, as strikes from behind unleash massive damage boosts.

  • Attack: 1,596
  • Element: Poison
  • Special: 400
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Special Skill: Spinning Bludgeon
  • Equipment Skill: Sneak Attack

Malady’s Fist

The sister weapon to Buon Fiore. This hammer is the final upgrade of the Girros Hammer, with a Paralysis edge against monsters. With Malady’s Fist having identical stats to Buon Fiore except element, this hammer is best used against monsters with a weakness to Paralysis.

  • Attack: 1,596
  • Element: Paralysis
  • Special: 400
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Special Skill: Spinning Bludgeon
  • Equipment Skill: Sneak Attack

Water Basher

Make a splash with this final upgrade to the Aqua Hammer. This hammer deals insane damage against monsters with a weakness to Water elements, and that’s about it! It trades off natural strength for special attack damage, so it’s weaker than average against monsters without a weakness to Water.

  • Attack: 1,293
  • Element: Water
  • Special: 910
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Special Skill: Spinning Bludgeon
  • Equipment Skill: Last Stand

Anja Striker

This hammer is the fiery equivalent of a Water Basher. Similar to Water Basher, the raw attack damage is traded for Special Attack damage. So, similarly to Water Basher, the Anja Striker is best used against monsters with a weakness to Fire.

  • Attack: 1,293
  • Element: Fire
  • Special: 910
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Special Skill: Spinning Bludgeon
  • Equipment Skill: Rising Tide

Diablos Shatter

If heavy hitters are your style, the Diablos Shatter may be your match made in heaven. This hammer is the strongest in terms of base damage stats. However, as a drawback, it lacks any elemental advantage against monsters. One of the potentials of this weapon is the insane attack damage boost if your health drops below 29%.

  • Attack: 1,979
  • Element: None
  • Special: None
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Special Skill: Spinning Bludgeon
  • Equipment Skill: Heroics
