Monster Hunter Now is the latest entry in the Monster Hunter franchise! However, this one is a little different when compared to the rest. Niantic, the company that developed Pokémon GO is behind this brand-new project. It’s basically IRL Monster Hunter – what’s not to love? Hunt monsters using augmented technology and collect a variety of powerful weapons to help you along the way. Players can also unite with friends in battles against the more powerful foes in this ever-evolving game.

You can learn more about it on the official site. We also recommend checking out our Monster Hunter Now Guide, or maybe our Monster Hunter Now Tier List, how about this Monster Hunter Now Weapons Guide?

Monster Hunter Now Great Sword Build

You’ll never be Zoro, but maybe after this guide, you’ll feel almost as cool as he is.

Best Great Swords

To determine the best Great Sword there’s some factors to consider first. Different swords will be imbued with elements, these will cause elemental weakness damage boosts to certain monsters.

You also want to keep your Special Skill in mind. These are lethal attacks you can use when facing off against monsters. Special Skills are unique to each weapon type, and can be carried over to other weapons of the same category. So, with those in consideration, lets get into the Great Swords.

Datura Blaze

Datura Blaze ironically is a Poison weapon, not Fire as the name may suggest. This is due to being forged from Pukei Pukei remains. Datura Blaze is the most powerful of the Blooming Blaze possibilities.

  • Element: Poison
  • Special: 400

This blade is near identical to the Datura Blaze with the same numerical stats. This blade of course, deals stunning damage when in battle.

Aqua Slasher

This blade of course performs best against monsters with a weakness to Water. If you’re quite the clumsy fighter this blade may also be ideal as the Equipment Skill, Last Stand, provides you with massive stat boosts when your HP drops below 15%.

  • Element: Water
  • Special: 910
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Special Skill: True Charged Slash

The sister counterpart to the Aqua Slasher. This fiery blade deals extra damage to monsters with a weakness to Fire elements.

  • Element: Fire
  • Special: 910
  • Affinity: 0%
  • Special Skill: True Charged Slash
