Mishap 2: An Intentional Haunting – Game Introduction

General Information

Click on Options to adjust the Music, Sound Effects and Dialogue volumes and turn Fullscreen and Custom Cursors on and off. Based on my system, the game appears to have auto detection for Widescreen Monitors. There is no option to adjust this if you have a widescreen monitor, although you may choose to play in Windowed Mode by unchecking the Fullscreen box.
Extras include completed Minigames to replay, Awards collected, Ultimo Energy Drink cans found, viewed Cutscenes, Bonus Content (Gadgets, Wallpapers, Extra Art and Concepts) and Credits. All but the Credits are locked until you progress in the game.
There are 8 Awards for getting a Silver or Gold trophy in each Location. If you collect all the Awards, you’ll receive a Secret Award at the end of the Game.
Click on Collector’s Edition to access Behind the Scenes videos, Jack O. Diamond’s Cheater Guide (the in-game strategy guide) and Bonus Wallpapers.
Click on Profile to Create or Delete profiles. You may create up to 5 profiles consisting of a maximum of 12 characters (letters, numbers and symbols). Click New, click in the text box, type in your profile name, press the Enter key on your keyboard and then click Create. Next, choose your gameplay mode: Scary or Relaxed and then click OK. In Relaxed Mode, you’ll avoid the “Ghost Scare” penalties for misclicking and the Hint button will recharge faster.
Gameplay consists of 8 Chapters (locations), with Doors into 3 Additional Rooms, in each location. You will find all the Objects in the lists for each Location and Room, Ghosts, Riddle Pieces, Ultimo Energy Drinks and Gadget Parts. At the end of each Main Location, you’ll solve the Riddle to receive the Secret Gadget Piece and then play a Minigame in order to progress to the next Location.
You must wait between uses of the Hint button, until the Balloon refills. You may skip the Mingames; however, you will need to complete the first round to do so. The Skip button is available, immediately after you complete Round 1.
During gameplay, access the Menu, located at the lower left, by clicking on it or pressing the Esc key on your keyboard. From there, you can Resume your game, access the Options, view the Help Files or Quit the game. The rechargeable Hint button is located at the lower right and the Ghost Vision Monocle is located just to the left of the Hint button.
At the bottom of the game screen, you’ll find the Items (list of objects to eliminate from the scene), Message (items found, in each location, containing story elements and information) and Log (tracks your progress in the Riddle, Gadget, Ghosts, Checklist and Diary). Clicking on individual items will give you further information (Ghosts and Message Items).
Click on the blinking Arrow, located just above the Menu, to exit a Room.
The instructions for the Minigames will appear just before you begin them. Read the instructions carefully so you understand what you need to do.

Gameplay and Guide Tips

This guide assumes you’ve read the General Information, used the in-game Tutorial and/or Help features or otherwise familiarized yourself with the gameplay. It is strongly recommended that you read the Help files (click on Menu at the lower left, or press the Esc key on your keyboard) to thoroughly familiarize yourself with all the features and mechanics of gameplay.
This walkthrough was written in Relaxed Mode. The Hint button recharges in 30 seconds, in Relaxed Mode and 60 seconds in Scary Mode.
After the movie cutscenes, click to progress quickly through the dialogs.
Main scenes are shown in a scrolling panorama view. Move your cursor to the left or right to scroll to other views of the scene. The Additional Room scenes do not scroll.
Object Lists are random and only the Doors, Ghosts, Ultimo Energy Drinks, Gadget Parts, Messages and Riddle Pieces will be shown in this guide.
Click on the Ghost Vision when it’s blinking to locate the Ghosts. As you move closer to a Ghost, the Gauge will increase from Cold to Hot until the Ghost appears. Click on the Ghost to drain some of its energy. You’ll need to locate and click on each Ghost 3 times in order to completely drain its energy and capture it. The Ghosts will always appear in the same locations.
The in-game Strategy Guide can’t be accessed during gameplay. You will need to return to the Main Menu and click on Collector’s Edition to access it.
You may complete the Main Location, or enter any of the Additional Rooms, in any order, and complete those first. You may also go back and forth between Rooms before you complete them. This guide will show the Main Location first and then the Additional Rooms. Scroll down to the appropriate section of this guide if you are playing in a different order than shown. You may also click on the Ghost Vision first to eliminate the Ghost/Ghosts before finding objects and other items.
All the minigames are Arcade Style games and require several rounds to complete. Most don’t require extremely quick reflexes; however, they do require some skill and attention. You must complete (or fail) the first round in order to skip the remaining rounds. Note that you will not receive the Award for the Chapter if you do this.
In this guide, Doors will be indicated in yellow, Ultimo Energy Drinks in green, Messages in pink, Gadget Parts in blue, Ghosts in red (white if necessary) and the Riddle Pieces in white.

Walkthrough

Click on Play and watch the opening movie and dialogs.

Chapter 1 – Patio

Rooms: Rock Garden (1), Tea Room (2), Baths (3). Ultimo Energy Drink.

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Parts: Dynamite, Propeller. Riddle Pieces: Iron, Spring. Message: Envelope.

Find the Ghosts, Ping Pong and Jin. When complete, click on the Door to the Rock Garden.

Rock Garden

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Dragon. Riddle Piece: Pot. Message: Photo. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Sushi. When complete, exit the Rock Garden and then click on the Door to the Tea Room.

Tea Room

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Katana. Riddle Piece: Salt Shaker. Message: Scroll. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Stinging Shadow. When complete, exit the Tea Room and then click on the Door to the Baths.

Baths

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: none. Riddle Piece: Plunger. Message: Scroll. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Hip Po. When complete, click on the Log and then click on the Riddle.

Baths Riddle

Solve the Riddle (1) and then click on the Riddle Scene (2). Use the Dish of Salt and the Dish of Iron Bits in the Hot Springs (3). When completed, you will receive the Secret Gadget Piece.

Curse Breaker Minigame

The Curse Breaker minigame is an Arcade Shooter similar to Galaga. Make sure and read the instructions before you start so you understand how to complete it. If you need help, check the game guide for strategies to complete this minigame. After each round, you’ll be given the opportunity to skip the remaining rounds/round, or continue. You must complete each round with a Silver or Gold Trophy to get the Reward for the Chapter.

Chapter 2 – Gym

Rooms: Locker Room (1), Sauna (2), Juice Bar (3).

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Ultimo Energy Drink. Gadget Part: Lobster Claw. Riddle Pieces: Brass Ring, Orange Juice. Message: Fight Poster.

Find the Ghosts, Chloe Chakra and Anthony Cal. When complete, click on the Door to the Locker Room.

Locker Room

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Jump Rope. Riddle Piece: Dumbbell. Message: Letter. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Willis Swoops. When complete, exit the Locker Room and then click on the Door to the Sauna.

Sauna

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Arm. Riddle Piece: Ant. Message: Envelope. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Flavio. When complete, exit the Sauna and then click on the Door to the Juice Bar.

Juice Bar

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Steel Chair. Riddle Piece: Beehive. Message: Legal Notepad. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Mr. Crackers. When complete, exit the Sauna, click on the Log and then click on the Riddle.

Gym Riddle

Solve the Riddle (1) and then click on the Riddle Scene (2). Click on the Orange Hammer and then click on the Bell 5 times (3).

Down For the Count Minigame

The Down For the Count minigame is a marble shooter similar to Zuma or Stone Loops of Jurassica. Make sure and read the instructions before you start so you understand how to complete it. If you need help, check the game guide for strategies to complete this minigame. After each round, you’ll be given the opportunity to skip the remaining rounds/round, or continue. You must complete each round with a Silver or Gold Trophy to get the Reward for the Chapter.

Chapter 3 – Docks

Rooms: Bait Shack (1), Pool Deck (2), Boat House (3). Ultimo Energy Drink.

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Parts: Crab Net, Cannon. Riddle Pieces: Starfish, Thread Spool. Message: Bottled Message.

Find the Ghosts, Sally Shallows and Cali Mari. When complete, click on the Door to the Bait Shack.

Bait Shack

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Harpoon. Riddle Piece: Cotton Swab. Message: Journal. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Petey Plecostomus. When complete, exit the Bait Shack and then click on the Door to the Pool Deck.

Pool Deck

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: none. Riddle Piece: Deck of Cards. Message: Journal. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Bodie Kahunachompaloa. When complete, exit the Pool Deck and then click on the Door to the Boat House.

Boat House

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Desk Fan. Riddle Piece: Surfboard. Message: Map. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Jimbo Doolihan. When complete, exit the Boat House, return to the Pool Deck, click on the Log and then click on the Riddle.

Pool Deck Riddle

Solve the Riddle (1) and then click on the Riddle Scene (2). Click on the Mop, click and hold the left mouse button and move the cursor over the Deck (3) until it’s clean.

Gone Fishing Minigame

The Gone Fishing minigame is an Arcade Target Shooter where you must spear fish with your Harpoon. Make sure and read the instructions before you start so you understand how to complete it. If you need help, check the game guide for strategies to complete this minigame. After each round, you’ll be given the opportunity to skip the remaining rounds/round, or continue. You must complete each round with a Silver or Gold Trophy to get the Reward for the Chapter.

Chapter 4 – Theatre

Rooms: Backstage (1), Control Room (2), Tour Bus (3). Ultimo Energy Drink.

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Parts: Darts, Skeleton. Riddle Pieces: Witch Hat, Pot. Message: Concert Flyer.

Find the Ghosts, Honeybubs and Antonia Falsetto. When complete, click on the Door to the Backstage.

Backstage

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Boombox. Riddle Piece: Ice Bucket. Message: Newspaper Clipping. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Maxx O. Verdrive. When complete, exit the Backstage and then click on the Door to the Control Room.

Control Room

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: none. Riddle Piece: Fiddle. Message: Photo. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Zoomzi. When complete, exit the Control Room and then click on the Door to the Tour Bus.

Tour Bus

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Jumper Cables. Riddle Piece: Lighter. Message: Journal. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Shashbaba Ganoosh. When complete, exit the Tour Bus, return to the Control Room, click on the Log and then click on the Riddle.

Control Room Riddle

Solve the Riddle (1) and then click on the Riddle Scene (2). Click on Switch E, 4 times.

Siren’s Song Minigame

The Siren’s Song minigame is an Arcade Elimination game. Make sure and read the instructions before you start so you understand how to complete it. If you need help, check the game guide for strategies to complete this minigame. After each round, you’ll be given the opportunity to skip the remaining rounds/round, or continue. You must complete each round with a Silver or Gold Trophy to get the Reward for the Chapter.

Chapter 5 – Barn

Rooms: Chuck Wagon (1), Hayloft (2), Stables (3). Ultimo Energy Drink.

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Seat Belt. Riddle Pieces: Buck, Bell. Message: Poster.

Find the Ghosts, Verna Stoltzfuss and Vicky Prickly. When complete, click on the Door to the Chuck Wagon.

Chuck Wagon

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Bungie Cords. Riddle Piece: Straw. Message: Newspaper. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Wendy Woggly. When complete, exit the Chuck Wagon and then click on the Door to the Hayloft.

Hayloft

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Sword. Riddle Piece: Tank. Message: Post Card. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Moe Tunnels. When complete, exit the Hayloft and then click on the Door to the Stables.

Stables

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Shovel. Riddle Piece: Candle. Message: Notice. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Travis Hickory. When complete, exit the Hayloft, click on the Log and then click on the Riddle.

Barn Riddle

Solve the Riddle (1) and then click on the Riddle Scene (2). Click and drag the Straw Handle, clockwise (3), until you raise the Bucket.

Ghost Rider Minigame

The Ghost Rider minigame is an Arcade Riding game. Make sure and read the instructions before you start so you understand how to complete it. You must complete each round with a Silver or Gold Trophy to get the Reward for the Chapter.

Chapter 6 – Great Hall

Rooms: Bottlery (1), Tap Room (2), Kitchen (3). Ultimo Energy Drink.

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Parts: Crossbow, Flail. Riddle Pieces: Ankh, Whisk. Message: Public Decree.

Find the Ghosts, Snowcone, Lucretia Cacklebaum. When complete, click on the Door to the Bottlery.

Bottlery

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Sundae. Riddle Piece: 1 (one). Message: Scroll. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Windchill. When complete, exit the Bottlery and then click on the Door to the Tap Room.

Tap Room

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Torch. Riddle Piece: Oil Can. Message: Scroll. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Faustus Stoutbrew. When complete, exit the Tap Room and then click on the Door to the Kitchen.

Kitchen

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: none. Riddle Piece: Ale Froth. Message: Troll. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Sir Lothar. When complete, click on the Log and then click on the Riddle.

Kitchen Riddle

Solve the Riddle (1) and then click on the Riddle Scene (2). Click and drag the Shank Bone, Kale and Whiskey into the Pot (3).

Kingdom Come Minigame

The Kingdom Come minigame is an Arcade Tower Defense game. Make sure and read the instructions before you start so you understand how to complete it. Chapter 7 – Spa

Rooms: Rec Room (1), Nursery (2), Laundry Room (3). Ultimo Energy Drink.

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Parts: Paint Brush, Electric Mixer. Riddle Pieces: Axe, Bicycle. Message: Notebook.

Find the Ghosts, Bo’ Tangles, Zen Samadhi. When complete, click on the Door to the Rec Room.

Rec Room

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Colander. Riddle Piece: Quarter. Message: Poster. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Melvin Watts. When complete, exit the Rec Room and then click on the Door to the Nursery.

Nursery

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Garden Shears. Riddle Piece: Safety Pin. Message: Envelope. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Molly Qule. When complete, exit the Nursery and then click on the Door to the Laundry Room.

Laundry Room

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: none. Riddle Piece: Putter. Message: Post Card. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Camille. When complete, click on the Log and then click on the Riddle.

Laundry Riddle

Solve the Riddle (1) and then click on the Riddle Scene (2). Put 46 cents in the slot (1 quarter, 1 dime, 2 nickels and 1 penny; click and drag to the slot), set (click and drag clockwise) the Cycle to Spin, the Temperature to Hot, the Time to 15 minutes (green) and then press the Start button (3).

Hair Raiser Minigame

The Hair Raiser minigame is an Arcade Dash/Simulation game. Make sure and read the instructions before you start so you understand how to complete it. You must complete each round with a Silver or Gold Trophy to get the Reward for the Chapter.

Chapter 8 – Private Quarters

Rooms: Office (1), Laboratory (2), Conservatory (3). Ultimo Energy Drink.

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Parts: Bandages, Scalpel. Riddle Pieces: Boot, Vials. Message: Paper Stack.

Find the Ghosts, Nathan Lardgums and Luke Boothways. When complete, click on the Door to the Office.

Office

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Tongs. Riddle Piece: Switch. Message: Diploma. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Bungle. When complete, exit the Office and then click on the Door to the Laboratory.

Laboratory

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: none. Riddle Piece: 5 (five). Message: Warning Label. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Sergeant Cross. When complete, exit the Laboratory and then click on the Door to the Conservatory.

Conservatory

Collect all the items in the list and then click on the Ghost Vision. Gadget Part: Stitches. Riddle Piece: Dice. Message: Notebook. Ultimo Energy Drink.

Find the Ghost, Wilfred B. Rottingham. When complete, exit the Conservatory, return to the Laboratory, click on the Log and then click on the Riddle.

Laboratory Riddle

Solve the Riddle (1) and then click on the Riddle Scene (2). Set the dials (click and drag, clockwise or counter-clockwise) so they point to the Heart, Amoeba, Bird, Tree and Shell (a through e will start blinking) and then press the Red Button in the center (3).

Flatliners Minigame

The Flatliners minigame is an Arcade Simulation game. Make sure and read the instructions before you start so you understand how to complete it.
