Melodies Run is a mix between a rhythm action game and an auto-runner. You’re sprinting down colored tiles, hitting the right notes to make the song keep playing. It’s fun, but it can be fraught sometimes, especially if you’re not sure what you should be doing.

And that’s why we’ve written this guide. We’ve played a good chunk of Melodies Run and pulled out the strategies that we think are going to take your game to the next level. Use these suggestions and you’re going to be making music with the best of them.

Whether you’re hopping to your first song or you’ve already smashed out a few hits, there’s going to be something here that will ensure you’re having as much fun as possible – and winning more often than not. These are the best hints, tips and cheats for Melodies Run.

Stick to the middle

For the most part you’re going to be running down the center of the path. The grey tiles that you want to avoid are going to be to either side. There’ll be some variation but if you focus on sticking to the middle you’re going to do just fine.

Watch out for jumps

The jumps are probably the trickiest part of the whole experience. You’re going to spend a lot of time in the air and you need to get your landing just right to keep on playing. Keep your finger on the screen when you’re airborne, stick the landing and keep on trucking.

Play with the sound on

It’s entirely possible to play the game silently, but if you want to get the most out of it we’d suggest turning the music up. Not only will you get the best experience, but the rhythm of the song can also make it easier to stick to the right track.

You can change your instrument

If you don’t like the sound of the instrument you’re running along, you can change it. Tap the key icon in the top right corner of the screen and you’ll see a choice of instruments. Tap the one you fancy and you’ll change the noises you make when you land on tiles.

Slow down if you’re having trouble

If you’re finding a level too tricky you can slow the game down to make it easier. Tap the cog icon in the top right of the screen and move the correct slider to the left to make things a bit more sedate. By the same token, if you fancy a challenge, move the slider to the right to speed the game up.
