Marvel Snap Variants Guide

We’ll now dive into the guide at hand.

What Are Variants?

The Marvel universe has been going for decades, so there’s a fair few alternative costumes/looks for each of the characters. That’s where variants come in.

A variant is an alternative cosmetic design for a Marvel snap card. They don’t necessarily change anything about the card you’re playing, but if you’re into cosmetic customisation, then you’ll want to collect as many as possible! Think of variants as a fancy term for skins.

Variants are usually based on how a particular artist drew the character for comic books. For example, Alex Ross, who is a popular illustrator, has his drawings of the Marvel characters available as variants in Marvel Snap.

Despite being only cosmetic, variants aren’t all worth the same. This is due to the fact that there’s a few different rarity rankings for variants. These are…

  • Rare
  • Super Rare
  • Token Shop Ultimate

There’s a fourth rarity ranking, Mythic, but it’s not been released yet. We imagine it will come in a future update further down the line.

How Do I Get Variants?

There’s a few different ways you can acquire variants. We’ll list them below…

  • In-game promotions e.g. launch event
  • Season Pass
  • Season Cache
  • Token Shop
  • Collector’s Reserve
  • Daily Offer

The daily offer is probably the most common way of getting a variant. The daily offers reset at 3 AM GMT every day, so make a mental note if you want to keep on top of them!
