Makeup Kit is a game about picking up brushes, powders and lipsticks, then applying them to an unfortunate who’s got a social engagement. It’s mostly an auto-runner, but there are a few twists here and there that ensure things are never quite as straightforward as you might have been hoping.
And that’s precisely where this guide comes in. We’ve played a decent chunk of Makeup Kit and discovered a series of strategies that are going to keep your brushes clean and your makeover candidates happy.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve just picked up your first brush or you’re already layering on the lippy, there’s going to be something here to help you out. These are the best hints, tips and cheats for Makeup Kit.
Paint the faces
It might seem counter-intuitive, but when you see faces in the middle of the level, you should apply makeup to them. You’re going to get cash for doing it, and you can spend that cash on upgrades. It almost doesn’t matter how much makeup you have when you get to the end of the level – you’re going to increase the bar the same amount.
Quick moves can really help
You may think that keeping in careful control of your stack of makeup is the best idea, but actually quick-flick moves can really help out. They let you dart in and out to get hard-to-reach items, and if you time them right you can send your stack through two side-by-side objects at the same time.
Avoid the poison
There are sprays on the levels that can be helpful, but there are also ones that can be detrimental. You’ll be able to spot them because they have icons floating around in them – skull and crossbones or flies, for example. Do your best not to send your stack under these sprays.
Water can help
If you do end up with poison on your brushes, then your best chance is to find a shower. While these should be avoided most of the time, since they’ll clear any bonus sprays you’ve added, they’ll also clean off any poison you might have picked up.
You should spend evenly to upgrade the two stats at the start of the level. Increase your earning power first, then your starting brushes – then keep doing that. Both are going to help you get the best scores during the levels.
