Magic Valley basics
While the game starts near Balthazar’s house, you don’t necessarily need to focus everything around that area. You can build houses, place farm land and resources anywhere in the world you have already explored.
As you get further into the game, missions will open up that allow you to explore more of the valley. Although you will still need to search for which area is to open next, rest assured it will always be next to an area that is already opened up.
In short, to be able to open up more area’s, you will need to remember to do two things:
1) accept and finish missions from your friends, old and new.
2) gather a variety of collectables, ranging from runes to coins to simple weed.
Missions
Available missions are shown on the top-left side of the screen. You see the sub-goals of each mission as you accomplish them along the way.
To execute tasks, from building stuff to collecting resources, you need energy. One energy recharges itself every 5 minutes, but you can only hold a maximum amount of energy at once.
Collecting from housing and friends
When you build a house, it will generate a certain amount of coins over time. Check the time left by hovering your mouse over a house, and be back in time to collect. Similar to collecting from houses, you can collect resources over time by visiting your partners. Each partner will have a different resource to offer: Balthazar for instance offers you runes, while Suzanne offers you wood.
By putting decorations near houses, you will receive bonus coins. You can put multiple decorations next to eachother to build up the bonus on a house even more. If you put a decoration near multiple houses, it will boost both houses.
Crafting products
Another way to earn coins, is by crafting several products. From the beginning, you can craft magical potions and mixes. Later on, other crafts will open up that allow you to earn an earnest wage.
To get the resources needed to craft products, you need to farm them first. Farming products are a one-time buy, and will take a certain amount of time to grow before you can harvest them.
Resources and collectables
Resources can be found all around the valley. Simply click on them to collect.
If you are having trouble finding enough resources around, you can build a resource location. It will instantly give you that resource, and it will recharge resources over a certain amount of time, much like with houses.
If you’re not sure where to find a certain resource you need, simply scroll your mouse over the question mark in the window that shows which resources you need.
