Last Day On Earth: Zombie Survival captures the essence of what it’s like to survive a zombie apocalypse. Or at least, I assume it does having not been a victim. In it, survival is purely down to your wits, imagination, and a bit of luck too.

To help your chances even further, Gamezebo’s Last Day On Earth: Zombie Survival Tips, Cheats and Strategies is here with some useful advice on how to keep alive for a little bit longer, and how to craft the best items.

Getting Started

Last Day On Earth: Zombie Survival Tips, Cheats and Strategies
  • Starting out is particularly tough. So many options, so little clue as to what you should do.
  • At the very start, check out the nearby trashed car for some loot to get you going.
  • Your main aim is to craft a hatchet, pickaxe, and spear first.
  • These mean that you can collect pine logs, and limestone, giving you the basis of a useful shelter.
  • Hit the auto button, and Last Day On Earth: Zombie Survival does the work for you. This isn’t wise in a place full of enemies but the starting area is pretty forgiving.
  • Pillage it for all it’s worth, and find everything possible.

Building a Home

  • Your home isn’t going to be cozy, but it is a vital way of standing a chance of surviving.
  • Use your wood and stone to build a small structure. Don’t forget a door and window or two.
  • That door can, impressively, only be destroyed with C4 explosives so it’ll keep you safe from attack by other players.
  • Then work on crafting a backpack or small box to store all the stuff you’re going to find soon. A backpack doubles your storage space.
  • Work on crafting a Garden Bed and Raincatcher too. These will keep you fed and watered. You’d think zombies would be your biggest threat but it’s actually starvation and dehydration.
  • Work on building on the basics, and gathering as many resources as possible. The rest of the world will still be there later.

Exploring the Big Bad World

  • Look at each place you can go to. Each location offers a little insight into what to expect, such as how plentiful the enemies will be or what kind of resources are available.
  • Aim for downed airplanes or Army supply drops. These kind of places will offer you some useful gear such as clothing, weaponry, and electrical parts that you can later craft with.
  • Always think a couple of steps ahead and make sure you have a variety of different items at your disposal.
  • Found a gun? Awesome! Don’t use it. Seriously, save it for when you’re in dire need of it, like when a horde is coming at you and you’re getting swamped. Otherwise, stick with your spear or trusty baseball bat. Melee weapons are quieter than guns, meaning you won’t attract other zombies. Also, ammo is hard to come by.

Leveling Up

  • There’s a ton of great content as you level up, but 10 is a big one early on.
  • At level 10, you can craft armor. The armor isn’t great but as such gear is hard to find, it’s a big aid in helping you survive longer.
  • Work on gathering resources as an easy way of leveling up.
  • Be patient – this is a slow burner of a game. Expect to die often but it’ll work out in time. Honest.
