How to Play

  • To clear space or debris, click on the Move button at the bottom of the screen. Under this menu, select “Clear” to permanently remove any unwanted objects. You may also choose to Store them for later use.
  • In order to place a new building, move the framework to the location where you would like it placed. A green outline will appear if this location is suitable; a red outline will appear if it’s not. Once a location is selected, click on the building the required number of times to complete it.
Kingdom Quest
  • The Store is a building that will allow you to store objects or items inside of it for later use. This can by any object immediately accessible within your castle walls.
  • Place Castle Plots (the cobblestone squares) in order to place Workers, Stalls, or tables and chairs. These objects cannot be placed separate from Castle Plots.
Kingdom Quest
  • Workers are your castle’s workforce. Tasks such as cooking and crafting cannot be completed without them. You can toggle your cursor over a worker to see their current status, such as how far along they are in their task. When their task is complete, click on them to decide whether to sell or trade the results.
  • Stalls are your personal shops. Once an item is completed (such as food, clothing, etc) by a Worker, you may choose to Sell it. When you do this, that item is then moved to a Stall, where it will be sold for profit until there is no more to sell.
Kingdom Quest
  • The alternative to selling is trading. You will need to build a Trade Guild in order to gain access to this option. Trading doesn’t bring in as much monetary profit, but you can use it to additionally trade for other available items or materials you might need.
  • Once you’ve built a Pantry, you can use this to manage any edible or food-related items you have in stock. In the same way, use the Store to manage stored items.
  • Place Farm Plots (the grassy squares) in order to place plants, mines, or animals. They cannot be placed anywhere else aside from these plots. These items must grow, or process for a predetermined amount of time before they can be harvested or collected.
Kingdom Quest
  • Click on the Marketplace to gain access to plants, animals, and resources you may need in order to grow ingredients for recipes or collect resources for crafting. From here, you can select what you would like to purchase, then assign that item to a Farm Plot in order to grow or process. From here, you can also view any relevant recipes to that product.
Kingdom Quest
  • The Book of Making is your personal recipe book. It contains numerous recipes for cooking and steps for crafting. Select a recipe, and it will instantly show you whether or not you have the proper ingredients. If you don’t, you can purchase them from here. If you do, you can start cooking or crafting from here. From here, you can also view how many batches a recipe will make, how long it will take, and how much it will earn.
Kingdom Quest
  • Once a recipe is selected and executed, it will go to a worker, who will then cook or process it. Once they’re done, click on them to move the item to a Stall or the Trading Guild accordingly. These are the basics for earning a profit in your kingdom.
  • However, if you’re going to earn a profit from food, you will need a place for subjects to eat it. Place a Castle Plot in order to place chairs and tables. One chair goes to one table, and up to two tables and chairs can be placed on a single plot. By having these available, subjects will sit down and eat food you’ve cooked, earning you a profit.
Kingdom Quest
  • Quests you can complete will be displayed on the left side of the screen. Simply click on the character tab to view the details pertaining to that quest. If you don’t know how to complete a step, select “Show me” next to that step to be taken to the appropriate screen.
  • As you progress in a quest, various steps will be checked off. When you complete a quest in its entirety, you will receive a reward.
Kingdom Quest
  • Some quests cannot be completed without the help of friends. You can invite and manage friends in the lower left corner of your screen. If you do not have any friends, you can also use Florins to complete these quests.
  • Florins are the rarer and more valuable of the game’s two currencies. They can be used to purchase special upgrades or skip steps in quests and tasks.
  • In addition to using Florins to skip tasks, you can also use Speedups to instantly complete timed tasks. Depending on how long is left in the task, a certain number of speedups will be required. Your number of speedups is displayed at the top of the screen. You can earn additional speedups by leveling up.
  • As you complete tasks, you will receive Experience. This can be seen within the shield icon at the top of your screen. When it’s completely filled, you will gain a level. Going up a level offers handsome rewards, such as Groats, Keys, Speedups, and upgrades such as Stall Deeds.
Kingdom Quest
  • As you complete tasks such as gathering, harvesting, etc, Groats and Experience will be dropped. Hover your cursor over these drops in order to collect them.
Kingdom Quest
  • Medals and Achievements can be earned by completing various separate challenges that aren’t quests. These will offer you rewards. It can be something simple, such as growing various vegetables, to more complex and specific tasks– there are several categories. Each Achievement has three separate levels, or Medals you can earn, and with each progressing Medal, your reward will be greater. When you unlock an Achievement, click “Collect” to collect your reward. You can also view your various Achievements progress via the Medals and Achievements tab at the bottom of your screen.
Kingdom Quest
  • Eventually you will get to the point where you will need to unlock various ingredients and resources in order to complete quests. These will have a lock icon in the Book of Making or in the Marketplace. You will need to use Keys in order to unlock these locks and gain permanent access to these items. The number of Keys required is displayed next to the lock. Sometimes you will need to unlock multiple locks to get to a specific item, as items often come in tiers. Additional keys can be earned by leveling up, and the number you possess is shown at the top of the screen.
Kingdom Quest
  • Sometimes you will encounter Quests that don’t appear on the left side of the screen. Instead, these special quests will appear over the head of a character, with a bubble that says “Quest”. Click on that character to view the requirements.
Kingdom Quest
  • Use the Shoppe to purchase both decorative and functional items, such as tables, buildings, etc. Decorative items have no value other than aesthetic value, and sometimes they will be required as part of a Quest.
  • When you find yourself in need of additional Farm or Castle Plots, click on the Expansions tab at the bottom of the screen. From here, you can purchase additional plots. Plots can be purchased with either Groats or Florins.
  • As you complete Quests, you will gain access to even more quests, and new characters who move into your castle town. Complete quests in order to restore the castle to its former glory!

Tips and Tricks

  • In the event that a Quest requires more than the base batch number of an item, or you craft more than on Worker’s worth of a product, the same product will always go to the stall selling that product. For example, if you make 50 Leather Tunics, then an additional 50 Leather Tunics, they will all be sold from the same Stall, as long as that Stall is selling them. In this way, you don’t have to worry about a single product taking up more than one Stall.
  • You can gain additional Experience by waking up any sleeping Workers. Workers tend to sleep once they’ve completed a task, so go ahead and wake them back up!
  • In the event of some Farm Plot items, i.e. ores and select animals, they will provide multiple harvests before they disappear from a Plot. Simply toggle the cursor over these to see how many collections they have left to offer.
  • Send gifts to friends in order to gain bonuses! Gifts you’ve received can be viewed via the Gifts button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Visit friends daily to help them out and collect bonuses! You can help each friend with 5 tasks per day.
  • Daily bonuses, or taxes, can be collected from your citizens. You can choose to immediately collect it, or “roll it over” to the next day, thus making the reward higher. For maximum profit, visit everyday until the roll-over is at it’s highest, then make your collection.
  • When purchasing upgrades, try to use Groats instead of Florins as much as possible. Groats are easy to find and earn, whereas Florins are very rare and highly valuable. Many items may be purchased with either currency. In these cases, it’s recommended you strive to use Groats and save your Florins.
