Kaiju Run sees you pelting down levels as a giant monster, eating radioactive waste in order to get even bigger. Then there’s a fight, because there always has to be a fight. It’s a fun experience, but there’s some stuff you’re going to want to know if you want to get the most out of it.
Stuff like what? Stuff like that which you’ll find in this strategy guide. We’ve played a good chunk of the game and discovered a whole swathe of hints, tips and tricks that are going to ensure you’re constantly the king of the monsters.
Whether you’ve already whomped a few giant apes or you’re completely new to the game, you’re going to find something here that’ll push your monster wrangling to the next level. So let’s get on with it, shall we? Here are the best hints, tips and cheats for Kaiju Run.
You want to pick up as many of the green glowing power-ups as you can. These increase your level, and the higher your level, the more powerful you are. The red pick-ups will do the opposite and make you weaker, so avoid them like the plague.
However big your kaiju is, you can smash your way through pretty much everything, be it buildings, helicopters or trees. You won’t take any damage for doing it, so don’t worry about trying to avoid the pesky irritants the game throws in your way.
Once you’ve reached the boss, start tapping. The more taps, the quicker you’re going to dispatch them and the farther you’re going to fling them when they’re dead. Longer throws means a higher multiplier, so it’s well worth the effort.
At the start of most levels you can watch a video to up your kaiju to its second form. Honestly, though, there’s not much point. If you grab all of the green power-ups you’re going to max out your size by the end of the level anyway. If you’ve failed a level then it might be worth a punt, but we don’t think that’s particularly likely.
You can spend the gems on unlocking new kaiju. However, they don’t really change the way the game plays and you’re going to get them as you progress anyway. By all means spend your gems if you want, but there’s not much point in watching videos to increase your haul from a level.
