Game Introduction – Jungle Heat

Jungle Heat is a free-to-play competitive strategy game created by My.com. Players will build an army, construct defenses, harvest resources, and attack other players’ bases. Gamezebo’s quick start strategy guide will provide you with detailed images, tips, information, and hints on how to play your best game.

Quick Start Guide

Getting Started

• Jungle Heat is free to play, and can be downloaded by clicking the “Play Now!” option at the top of this page.
• Jungle Heat requires a constant internet connection at all times. If you lose your connection, you will remain logged out until you are back online.
• When you first start the game, you’ll be prompted to choose a username. This cannot be changed without starting over. 

• After selecting your username, you will be greeted with a brief tutorial that will go over the basics of the game: building your base, defending your base, and attacking the enemy.

Your Base

• Your base consists of four types of structures: Resource, Army, Defense, and Decorative. Along with these structures, your base will initially be filled with trash, rocks, and trees. These objects, like decorations, simply take up space and can be removed if desired.

• Your Command Center is the most important part of your base. While it doesn’t have any direct action, certain buildings can’t be upgraded until your Command Center is at a certain level. More importantly, destruction of the command center in battle is a guaranteed victory.
• There are two key resources in Jungle Heat: oil and gold. Both are used to purchase a variety of structures and units. Oil and gold can both be gathered by creating oil rigs and gold mines, respectively. Both resources must be stored in facilities that are also built by spending resources.
• Along with oil and gold, workers and time are valuable resources. Everything in Jungle Heat is built in real-time, and there must be available worker units for construction to begin. More workers can be obtained by building the Worker’s Hut.

• There are a handful of defensive objects that can be built. Cannons and Mortars are effective at dealing large damage to ground forces, the Jericho attacks aerial foes, and towers defend against both ground and air troops. Also available are walls and traps. Walls take a lot of damage and must be destroyed in order to pass. Traps and bombs are invisible to enemies and cause a lot of damage.
• The Army structures power your ability to go on the offensive. Barracks allow you to train soldiers. When you upgrade the barracks, new units become available, each with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. The rally point determines how many troops can be ready to go at any time. The lab can be used to upgrade troops, making them more formidable.

• Your base is almost always vulnerable to enemy attack. While a high-defense layout will help minimize the damage taken, you can also purchase protection using Diamonds, the premium currency. Protection prevents attack until it expires or you attack another player. You can also earn protection from taking too much damage during an attack.

Attacking the Enemy

• After pressing the “Attack!” button on the main screen, you’ll be greeted with two options for competitive play: Multiplayer and Single Player.

• Attacking a base is a mostly passive experience. Before attacking, you can look at the layout of the base, and at your available troops. When you’re ready to strike, tap on the troop you’d like to place and where you’d like to place it. Units will attack the nearest enemy structure, regardless of incoming fire from opposing weapons. You can’t control the troops once they’re placed, so think carefully about their likely line of attack before you begin combat.
• Multiplayer gameplay requires a small coin fee to find an opponent. After paying, you’ll get to check out that opponent’s base, and if you do not wish to attack, you can pay the fee again to fight a new rival. As long as you have enough coins, you can continue this process until you find a base you’re confident in attacking.

• After finishing a multiplayer match, you have a ranking system that will change based on the results. Your ranking points determine your standing in the weekly tournaments, which reward players with free diamonds.
• On the “Attack!” screen, you’ll also see the single player map. For the most part, the single player levels progress linearly. You can earn up to three stars in each stage, determined by the amount of damage dealt to the enemy base. Provided you earn at least one star, you can advance to the next level.
• Occasionally, you’ll run into single player levels that branch off the main path. These levels are extra difficult challenges that provide a huge reward. Some of these stages may be a bit too difficult early on, but as you increase the level of your base, you can go back and fight them.

Tips and Tricks

• The most important thing to remember is to protect your Command Center at all costs. The best way to do this is to put it in the center of the map, surrounded by other buildings and with traps, turrets, and towers arranged to wipe out the enemy while they’re attacking the other complexes.
• Walls are tough to penetrate. One of the simplest and effective base designs is to surround everything important with walls.

• It’s easy to forget how valuable time can be. You can pay diamonds to save time, but in some cases, it’s better to hold onto them and let things happen in real time. Training units and making low-level upgrades don’t take too long.
• Always be building and upgrading resource storage when possible. Resources are necessary for most upgrades, and you can never use more resources than your capacity allows. Not even using diamonds.
