Welcome to our strategy guide for Jessica’s Cupcake Cafe.

GENERAL TIPS AND TRICKS

Jessica is a young woman who visits her mother and aunt after spending time in Los Angeles. Her mother and aunt are talking about selling their bakery because business is not doing so well. Jessica comes up with an excellent plan to get the bakery back on track- She wants to start selling cupcakes because they are ‘hip’. Her mother and aunt give her a chance at running the bakery and selling cupcakes, milk, coffee, and a chocolate drink.

Beware that this game starts off very easy. Seasoned time management players should not struggle much during the first half of the game. The second half of the game, however, is a completely different story. If you are determined to achieve expert on every level, you will most likely be playing Jessica’s Cupcake Café for hours.

There is a circular timer at the beginning of each level. The blue portion is for you to prepare your cupcakes before the customers arrive. The yellow section is when the customers arrive and the red section lets you know that the level is almost complete.

At the beginning of each level, click on the candy machine, coffee maker, and chocolate machine so they are ready. As soon as you pick up the last candy, coffee, or chocolate drink, immediately click on the machine so it refills right away.

Preparation is the key to success in this game! The time you have at the beginning of each level to produce cupcakes is crucial. Work as quickly and efficiently as possible during this time. The more successful you are during the preparation time, the more likely you will achieve expert.

Up to 5 customers are in the store at once. Try making combos to increase your profit. In order to make a combo, you do not need to fill the customer’s entire order. All you need to do is fill at least one item. For example, carry two different cupcakes at a time, and click on all 5 customers.

Each level in this game is its own separate entity. Once you get to the later levels of the game, you will probably come to the understanding that while the gameplay remains the same, the cupcakes you make each level are completely different. If you are trying to achieve expert for a particular level but are having trouble, a good idea would be to familiarize yourself with the cupcakes you are making for that level.

You can carry 2 items at once throughout the game. Utilizing this is essential to achieving normal goal and expert goal.

Even when you are carrying 2 items, you can still activate any machine in the game.

Queuing is an important part of the game. You are able to queue your actions, which lets you plan ahead and strategize what to do next while your character is performing the action.

Try to perform 2 actions at once on 2 of the same types of machines to get your rhythm going. As soon as you actions are completed, pick up the items and click on the machines again so they are ready for your next batch of cupcakes.

If you pick up an item and it is currently of no use, you cannot put it back down. You must throw it out. However, you do not lose any money when you throw out an item.

When you are purchasing machine upgrades, it is best to upgrade both of the same machine at the same time. If one of your ovens is faster than the other, it might throw off your rhythm.

When you are designing your own cupcakes, it might be helpful for you to put a green cupcake, with a green frosting with a green decoration. This can help some people who find levels overwhelming.

You have a choice whether to create the cupcakes that are recommended at the beginning of each level, or to design your own cupcakes. If you design your own cupcakes, you will get more money for them. However, this can become very tricky in later levels if you choose to design your own cupcakes because you might not be able to utilize a 2 frosting or decorating machines at the same time. In other words, each frosting and decorating machine has three flavors. In some cases, the flavors or decorating items you need might be on the same machine when you are trying to perform 2 actions at once. If this is the case, you have to wait until the machine is done with the first request and then click on the machine for the second request. A word of advice would be to design your own cupcakes through the end of chapter 4. For chapters 5, 6, and 7, it is recommended that you simply go with the recommended choice.

Normally, it’s easiest to ring up all 5 available customers at once at the register. However, making expert in the later levels might require you to slightly alter this practice. Towards the end of the level, you might need to ring customers up individually to get as many of them in the store before the end of the level. More customers=more money.

At the end of the chapter, (every 8 levels), you are presented with a line graph that compares your sales for each level to your expert score.

Custom orders can be a nuisance when you are first getting used to them. When you replay a level, it is usually not the same. If you try a level and a custom order is requested, you can replay the level and you will find that there is no custom order to be filled.

When trying to make combos, it is easier to take care of the drinks first, and then the cupcakes. You might find that this will help your rhythm.

Regarding the candy machine, it is easiest to serve 3 candies at the same time. That way you can immediately click on the machine and it will refill itself.

POWER-UPS

During the game, customers will provide you with power ups when you serve them successfully. These power ups can really come in handy and make the difference of achieving goal or expert goal.

Coin power-up – When you click on the coin power up, the customers will give you double the tips. Try to click on the power up right before your customers are ready to pay at the cash register. You should use this power up when you have 5 customers that are waiting to pay.

Machine power-up – This makes machines run twice as fast. Use this power up when you are about to use several machines.

Speed power-up – This makes Jessica move twice as fast.

Heart power-up – clicking on this power up will give all of the customers in line a full set of 5 hearts,

Cupcake Power-up – Perhaps the most important power up. When you click on this power up, all of your cupcake trays will be filled with 12 additional cupcakes each.

Just remember to take breaks during your game so that you do not get frustrated or exhausted, and most of all, remember to have fun!

UPGRADES

Before every level except for the first level in the game and the last level in every chapter, you will have the opportunity to upgrade several items that will increase customer patience, increase the speed of the different machines that you operate, and increase the quality or quantity of items you can hand out such as coffee or candy.

Certain upgrades might not be available right away. A tip of advice when you upgrade the machines is to upgrade the same two machines at the same time. In other words, do not upgrade just one oven and then just one frosting machine. It might throw off your rhythm. Since you will ultimately have 2 ovens, 2 frosting machines, and 2 decorating machines, save up enough money so that you can upgrade 2 of the same machines at the same time.

However, it would not be wise to upgrade 2 ovens to the maximum when you have not upgraded the frosting or decorating machines at all. If you get expert on all levels prior to level 6-2, you should have enough money to end up with all of the upgrades available.

Here are the upgrades in the shop:
