Before you can use Black Flash, you need to unlock it. While the obtainment method is simple, it relies heavily on RNG, as with many things in this Jujutsu Kaisen-inspired game.
When you have access to the move, all you need to do is wait for the red lightning to appear around you in the middle of battle. This signifies that your Cursed Energy is full!
With your next hit, hold down the E key and perform Black Flash to attack the enemy. The ability is more or less a super-powerful punch that knocks the target back and also replenishes your Sanity bar by a small amount.
Let’s cover how to get the ability! During any battle, whether it’s against other players in the open world/Culling Games or during PvE combat in missions, you have a chance to obtain Black Flash.
The prerequisite is that your character needs to be at least level 50 for this to happen. There’s no guaranteed number of fights that lead to Black Flash dropping, so you just have to keep battling until you get it! When you eventually obtain the ability, a cutscene plays and the text ‘Black Flash Discovered’ appears at the top of your screen in red and black.
Like all other skills in Sorcery, you can upgrade Black Flash by speaking to the Voxel NPC in the Hideout. She asks for 1 Cursed Gem and a specified amount of Essence depending on the upgrade level. The more you upgrade the skill, the more powerful it becomes, and you even unlock some new moves for it!
