How To Tame Animals in 99 Nights in the Forest
The best friend update.

Find out how to tame animals in 99 Nights in the Forest in this complete guide, and how these tamed companions help you survive and thrive!
Start playing 99 Nights via Roblox. For more on 99 Nights, check out my complete Character Masterlist to familiarise yourself with the tameable candidates.
How To Tame Animals in 99 Nights in the Forest
To tame animals, you need a Taming Flute, which includes one of the following:
- Old Taming Flute: Obtainable via Flute Tents and the Zookeeper Class.
- Used to tame animals with 1-2 Faces.
- Good Taming Flute: Obtainable by upgrading an Old Taming Flute at an Upgrade Cabin.
- Used to tame animals with 3-4 Faces.
- Strong Taming Flute: Obtainable by upgrading a Good Taming Flute at an Upgrade Cabin.
- Used to tame animals with 5 Faces.
Faces in this context are little icons that appear above an animal’s head when you begin playing the flute. If you succeed at the minigame (keeping the bar within the green block), you’ll convert one of these face icons into a heart. When all faces become hearts, a pet will request certain food to complete the taming.
Note: at maximum, even with the class, you can only tame two animals at once. So, choose your companions wisely!
What Can Tamed Animals Do?
Tamed animals will either follow their owner or sit down on command. The player can rename their pets and use them as additional support during battles. Of all pets, only the passive rabbit won’t fight enemies, so this companion is entirely cosmetic-based, as it adopts a new look when tamed and will only follow or sit.
Wolves, Alpha Wolves, Bears, and Mammoths, however, will attack any hostile that hurts their owner first. They don’t have a natural affinity for strife, so they only act to defend their tamer.
Zookeeper
Alongside the new update, we got a new counterpart Class, which, if you read this article pre-update, you’ll know I predicted!
Zookeeper costs 70 Diamonds to obtain, and those within this class begin with an Old Taming Flute and the level 1 perk of their taming whistle levelling quicker (than the average player).
To reach the second perk, a Zookeeper must tame 30 animals. This then allows the class to restore more health to tamed animals when they’re fed. For the final perk, the Zookeeper must tame 60 animals. This allows quicker taming with the flute when unlocked.
