The Grow a Garden 2 Rainbow Seeds grow Rainbow plants, which seems obvious now that I’ve typed it out. Rainbow plants are a must for any garden in Grow a Garden 2, as they increase the selling value by 30x.

Similarly, if not a little less profitable, are the Grow a Garden 2 Gold Seeds.

How to Get Rainbow Seeds in Grow a Garden 2

Rainbow Seeds have a chance to spawn during a Rainbow Moon event, which is exclusive to nighttime. They appear randomly around the map, so make sure to keep an eye out for them. The Rainbow Moon event has a 6% chance to spawn during the nighttime.

I’ve taken part in a few Rainbow Moon events, and at times, the Rainbow Seeds spawn out of bounds, making it impossible for anyone to get them. Hopefully, this bug will be fixed soon in a patch update.

As of right now, there are no other ways to get Rainbow Seeds in Grow a Garden 2.

What Are Rainbow Seeds?

When planting Rainbow Seeds, they grow a random plant, but in their rainbow form. Rainbow Seeds in general are of the Mythic rarity, so they’re pretty rare additions to your garden. They work similarly to Gold Seeds, but instead of the Golden mutation, they grant the Rainbow mutation.

As mentioned, you cannot determine which Rainbow plant will grow when you plant a Rainbow Seed. It’s completely random, so there’s a chance to get common plants or super rare ones.

Rainbow plants are obvious, meaning thieves will be drawn to your garden. To prevent your plants from being stolen, you’ll have to stand in your garden and keep watch during the night. The night event lasts around 2 minutes, so you don’t have to pretend to be a security guard for too long, thankfully.

Rainbow Mutation

To get the Rainbow mutation, the Star-Powered effect during the Rainbow Moon event causes the first plant you steal of the night to have the Rainbow mutation. However, only one player on the server can get this effect throughout the event, which lasts for 2 minutes.

If a plant has the Rainbow mutation, it gets a selling value multiplier of 30x. When harvesting a plant, there’s a 3% chance for the mutation to spawn, and when the plant is growing, there’s a 0.3% chance.

Are Rainbow Seeds Worth Planting?

I’d say so. With the 30x multiplier on plants with the Rainbow mutation, it’s kind of a no-brainer. You can make much more money selling Rainbow plants compared to regular ones. They can even sell for more than Gold plants, as they have a lower multiplier of 10x.

In Grow a Garden 2, plants can only have one mutation, unlike how they work in the original Grow a Garden game. This means players can’t hoard plants in their garden, waiting for multiple mutations to appear.

If a plant gets the Rainbow mutation, it’s the only mutation it’ll get until it regrows. It’s one of the best mutations for your garden at this current time, granting the third-highest multiplier behind Bloodlit [60x multiplier] and Starstruck [50x multiplier].
