In Pokemon Quest, your team of blocky Pokemon undertakes dangerous (sometimes) expeditions on a mysterious island full of wild Pokemon. Except for your Base Camp, there aren’t any signs of civilization, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still a currency to earn and spend.
That’d be PM Tickets, which you can use for two important purposes. The first is to recharge your battery, allowing you to go on more expeditions without having to wait for the individual charges to refill. By handing over 25 PM Tickets, you can get an instant recharge, enough to take on five levels.
PM Tickets can also be spent for items in the Poke Mart. Various decorations are for sale there, with prices ranging from 50 to 800 PM Tickets, and each one has a beneficial effect like increasing the number of ingredients you get on expeditions or making it more likely that you’ll find a Pokemon with a multi-socket. You can also buy box expansions there, increasing the number of Pokemon or Power Stones you can have in your inventory at any one time up to a maximum of 300 each.
This is all great stuff, right? So how can you get your hands on more PM Tickets for free? Currently, there are two ways.
Yep, Pokemon Quest literally gives away some PM Tickets to each player daily. Simply go to the Poke Mart and tap on the ‘Member Service’ tab. If available, the ‘Receive PM Tickets’ button will be available to use and you simply tap it to get your freebies.
If it’s been less than 24 hours since you last logged in, you’ll see a countdown timer that lets you know exactly how long it will be until your free PM Tickets are available. That makes it simple to plan accordingly. Also, keep in mind that a random Pokemon will show up at your base camp every 22 hours, so even if you don’t have much time to play on a given day, logging in once to get both daily rewards is a good idea.
It only makes sense that quests would be important in a game called Pokemon Quest, right? You can find them in the … wait for it … ‘Quests’ tab in the bottom nav bar, the icon that looks like a present.
There are two types of quests, Main and Challenge, each with their own tab. Main Quests tend to be things you are accomplishing for the first time, while Challenge Quests reward you for cumulative achievements like rounding up a number of Pokemon of the same type, cooking often and training your Pokemon for greater strength or to learn new moves.
In any case, you can tap on any quest to see what kind of reward it will yield upon completion. For our purposes, we’re looking for the ones that pay out in PM Tickets, which look like a blocky Poke Ball on a yellow square.
Though the quest rewards can be as few as 5 PM Tickets, they definitely add up over time, and even if you don’t track them closely, you’ll often find that you are knocking out Challenge Quests just by playing Pokemon Quest on a regular basis.
As premium in-game currencies go, PM Tickets really aren’t that bad at all, so you should be able to keep a fairly decent supply just by following our tips. Enjoy!
