How to Get Dark Grails in Sailor Piece – Saber Alter Requirement

The opportunities to obtain Dark Grails are endless… literally. They’re a required item in Sailor Piece for the new Saber Alter content. In this update, you can also get Passive Shards, which let you roll for a Spec Passive.

How to Get Dark Grail in Sailor Piece

Annoyingly, Dark Grails are a rare item that have a chance to drop from literally any NPC. This means there are no bosses or mobs you need to battle deliberately, as every enemy can drop the item. I really can’t tell if this method is helpful or just frustrating.

The best way to get rare drops from enemies is by increasing your Luck stat. This is possible with the Fortune Rune, Clans, Titles, and Races (I recommend the Kitsune race).

Why You Need Dark Grails

There are two main uses for Dark Grails. Actually, I think they’re the only two uses for the item, at least at this current time.

Summoning the Saber Alter Boss

Dark Grails are required when spawning the new Saber Alter boss on Boss Island, as well as 650K Gold and 650 Gems.On Easy difficulty, she has 750 million HP, and on Extreme difficulty, this increases to 15 billion.

Some bosses can only be summoned with Boss Keys, but that isn’t the case for this one.

Drops

Saber Alter has a chance to drop a variety of items, including those required when crafting the Saber Alter Melee Style.

Crafting the Saber Alter Melee Style

The Saber Alter Melee Style is only obtainable when speaking with the Saber Alter Trainer NPC, residing on Boss Island. Like other Melee Styles, you need to collect an array of items to craft it. This includes:

• 25x Dark Grails
• 8x Altar Essence
• 1x Corrupt Crown
• 3x Corruption Cores
• 15x Morgan Remnants
• Corrupt Tyrant (Title)

All of the above items (including the title) are potential drops from the Saber Alter boss fight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Drops Reliant on My Luck Stat?

Yes and no. The higher your Luck stat, the better your chances are of getting rarer drops. With Dark Grails having a low drop chance, any boost to your Luck is useful.

The reason I say yes and no is that you can still get Dark Grails even without any Luck buffs; it might just take a bit longer.

Do I Need Dark Grails?

Only if you want the Saber Alter Melee Style, which in turn requires the Saber Alter boss. If you’re not bothered about either of these things, then you can completely ignore their existence.
