On expeditions into the forest where foes and foraging await, your dog will protect you during combat. Sometimes the dog may take damage which will be indicated by a new animation with the dog’s tail and head down. To get your buddy feeling himself again, you need to feed him!

When you interact with your dog it will pull up a separate game menu, from here you can select the food icon to bring up the feeding page. You can select any food from this menu, but it is recommended to choose meat if available, or a food you would eat to replenish stamina for the best results.

More food can be purchased for your dog within Moonbury, or you can feed the dog meals that you would also prepare for yourself. In a pinch, food items which you forage outside Moonbury can also be fed to your dog.
