House of 100 Doors – Game Introduction

Welcome to the House of 1000 Doors: Family Secrets Collector’s Edition walkthrough on Gamezebo. House of 1000 Doors: Family Secrets is a hidden object adventure game played on the PC created by Alawar Entertainment. This walkthrough includes tips and tricks, helpful hints, and a strategy guide for how to complete House of 1000 Doors: Family Secrets Collector’s Edition.

General Tips

• When starting the game for the first time, you can choose between one of two modes: Casual or Expert. Casual features the Hint button taking 60 seconds to refill, and will highlight interactive zones for you. Expert features the Hint button taking 2 minutes to refill, and interactive zones won’t be highlighted.
• Throughout the game are hidden Beyond Objects. There are 35 in total: each one is circled in yellow and their locations shown in the guide below. Beyond Objects do not appear in the bonus adventure.
• Upon completing the main adventure, the bonus adventure will be unlocked. This section is covered as the last chapter of this guide.
• In the bottom left corner of the screen is the journal. This will keep track of clues and notes as you discover them, and also features a handy map. Select the map and you will be able to see all the rooms you’ve visited, how many you haven’t, where you currently are, and what rooms have things you can currently do in them.
• In the bottom right corner of the screen is the Hint button. Hints are unlimited, but require between 60 seconds and 2 minutes to reactivate depending on your game difficulty selected. During puzzles, this same button will fill, giving you a chance to skip puzzles after a certain amount of time has passed.
• Many of the hidden object areas of the game feature further close-ups where additional items on the list are hidden. Objects listed in red require revealing or combining of some kind before they can be crossed from your list. These items are generally identified with a box instead of a circular outline in the screenshots below.

Chapter 1: Séance

Study

• Click on the parcel sitting on the table to take a closer look at it. You’ll need to find something to open it.
• Click on the KNIFE on the top of the bench on the left to add it to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the parcel again. Use the KNIFE to cut the string, revealing a typewriter. Click on the wind-up key lying next to the typewriter on the left and place it in the slot above. There’s no paper in the typewriter.
• Click to open the cabinet on the back wall, then take a closer look at the middle shelf. Click on the GOLDEN FEATHER to add it to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the top shelf in the cabinet. Click on the SHEET OF PAPER and the INK to add them to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the typewriter again. Use the SHEET OF PAPER on the typewriter, then click on the key to type. You will receive the DEPLETED RIBBON.
• Examine the blue box on the mantle. Use the GOLDEN FEATHER on the hole in the top of the box to unlock it. Click on the TWEEZERS inside to add them to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the tray to the left of the typewriter on the table. Place the INK in the tray, then the DEPLETED RIBBON in the ink. Use the TWEEZERS to recover the REPLENISHED RIBBON and add it to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the typewriter again. Use the REPLENISHED RIBBON on the typewriter, then click on the wind-up key to type.
• Click on the piece of paper to read it.

Hallway

• Click on the suitcase on the left to open it, then click for a closer view inside. Click on the CLUB to add it to your inventory.

• Back in the main area, click on the Cane on the right, then use it to knock the DIAMOND down from the chandelier and add it to your inventory.

• Proceed forward to the next area.

Séance

• Click on the SPADE to add it to your inventory, then click on the cards to scatter them, revealing the KEY.

• Return to the Hallway.

Hallway

• Take a closer look at the jewelry box sitting on the dresser on the right. Use the KEY to open the box, revealing the HEART. Click to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the door of the small cabinet in the dresser on the right. Use the CLUB, DIAMOND, SPADE, and HEART on the corresponding slots to open the cabinet. Inside, click on the SCISSORS to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Séance.

Séance

• Use the SCISSORS on the exposed chord on the right to cut the séance short.

Chapter 2: The House of 1000 Doors

Entrance

• Click on BEYOND OBJECT 1/35 to collect it.

• Take a closer look at the container at the foot of the staircase. Click on the PORTRAIT (1) to add it to your inventory, then click on the container to dump all the leaves inside on the ground. Click on the leaves to remove them, revealing the BONE.

• Take a closer look at the grey box hanging on the wall towards the left side of the house. Click on the DOOR KNOCKER hanging off the box to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the statue to the left of the front door. Click on the LIGHTER to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the front door of the house. Use the DOOR KNOCKER on the plaque, then click on it to open the door.
• Proceed inside.

Main Hall

• Use the LIGHTER on the rope hanging from the chandelier to light it.
• Click on the hidden object area over the couch on the right.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. The green cloth and the pillow can be moved.

• Upon completing the area, the BOOK will be added to your inventory.
• Enter the Living Room.

Living Room

• Speak with the man sitting on the couch.
• Take a closer look at the table in the middle of the room. Click on the CUP OF COFFEE to add it to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the grandfather clock on the back wall. Click on the door panel to open it, then exit for now.
• Take a closer look at the statue on the mantle at the far end of the room. Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 2/35 to collect it.

• Return to the Main Hall.

Main Hall

• Proceed up the stairs to the next area.

Second Floor

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 3/35 to collect it.

• Take a closer look at the open window on the left. Click on the PORTRAIT (2) and the CLOCK WEIGHT to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Main Hall.

Main Hall

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 4/35 to collect it.

• Return to the Living Room.

Living Room

• Take a closer look at the grandfather clock on the back wall. Use the CLOCK WEIGHT on the chain within the clock. Then when the clock lights up, click on the panel over the clock to open it, clicking on the clock face to rotate it and reveal the PUZZLE PIECE.

• Exit and return to the Entrance.

Entrance

• Take a closer look at the grey box on the left side of the porch (from where you got the Door Knocker before). Click once again for a closer look, then use the PUZZLE PIECE on the empty slot to trigger a puzzle.
• Assemble the image. Click on two pieces of the puzzle to swap them. The solution is shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, click on the GEAR to add it to your inventory and read the letter beneath it.
• Return to the Second Floor.

Second Floor

• Click on the hidden object area at the back of the corridor.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the two cabinets to open them and reveal more objects within.

• Upon completing the area, the COIN will be added to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the first door on the right. Use the GEAR on the missing component area, then click on the green button to unlock the door. Proceed inside.

Boy’s Room

• Speak with the boy sitting on the left.
• Click on the BUTTERFLY NET to add it to your inventory, then take a closer look at the shelf over the bed. Click on the FIRECRACKER to add it to your inventory as well. Before leaving, click on the BEYOND OBJECT 5/35 to collect it.

• Return to the Main Hall.

Main Hall

• Use the BUTTERFLY NET on the SPRING hanging from the chandelier to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Living Room.

Living Room

• Take a closer look at the door at the far end of the room. Use the SPRING on the area with the broken spring to restore it, unlocking the door. Proceed through to the next area.

Library

• Click on the MUSICAL LAMP on the floor to add it to your inventory, then click on the BEYOND OBJECT 6/35 to collect it.

• Take a closer look at the section of books at the top of the ladder on the left. Use the BOOK on the empty slot to open a secret compartment, revealing the PORTRAIT (3). Click on it to add it to your inventory.
• Back in the main area, use the BONE on the Great Dane to pacify it, then proceed to the back wall.
• Place the PORTRAIT (1), PORTRAIT (2), and PORTRAIT (3) into the slots on the wall. Click on the TRAIN-SHAPED KEY to add it to your inventory.
• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 7/35 on the portrait wall to collect it.

• Exit to the Main Hall.

Main Hall

• Click on the hidden object area over the couch on the right.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. The pillow can be moved and the couch cushion can be lifted to reveal more hidden items.

• Upon completing the area, the LIGHT BULB will be added to your inventory.
• Proceed upstairs to the Boy’s Room.

Boy’s Room

• Give the MUSICAL LAMP to the boy to trigger a cutscene.
• Take a closer look at the wardrobe on the left. Use the TRAIN-SHAPED KEY on the lock to open it, then proceed through the portal inside.

Chapter 3: A Ghost in the Train

Train Passage

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 8/35 to collect it, then take a closer look at the paper lying on the floor and click on the PIECE OF COAL to add it to your inventory.

• Enter the first cabin on the left.

Engineer’s Cabin

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 9/35 to collect it, then take a closer look at the table and click on the PORTRAIT (1) and the RAZOR to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Train Passage.

Train Passage

• Use the RAZOR on the rope holding the curtains on the right to cut it, opening the curtains. Take a closer look at the window and click on the round BOILER HANDLE to add it to your inventory.
• Proceed forward down the corridor.

Engine Room

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 10/35 to collect it.

• Take a closer look at the stack of wood on the lower left.
• Stack all the logs on the shelf on the left. To move a log, click and drag it to where you want to place it, and then click it again to drop it. The solution is shown below.

• Back in the main area for now, use the BOILER HANDLE on the front of the boiler, then click on it three times to turn it before opening. Click on the hidden object area that appears.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. You can zoom in on the bucket on the right to reveal more items.

• Upon completing the area, the TWEEZERS will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Train Passage.

Train Passage

• Take a closer look at the grate/vent on the lower right. Use the TWEEZERS to retrieve the COIN (2) and add it to your inventory.

• Enter the Engineer’s Cabin.

Engineer’s Cabin

• Take a closer look at the top portion of the cabinet in the far right corner. Use the COINS (x2) on the empty slot to trigger a puzzle.
• Move each coin to its corresponding slot. To move the coins, click on the arrows. Hint: Think of the numbers on a clock face. The solution is shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, the cabinet will open. Take a closer look inside. Click on the KEY to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Train Passage.

Train Passage

• Take a closer look at the locked door in the corridor. Use the KEY to unlock the door, then proceed inside.

Passenger Cabin

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 11/35 to collect it.

• Take a closer look at the lamp in the upper right corner. Use the LIGHT BULB on the lamp to restore it, but note pulling the chord won’t light it.
• Take a closer look at the small table. Use the PIECE OF COAL on the bottom portion of the paper to reveal the rest of the report, as well as the code “4082”.
• Return to the Engineer’s Cabin.

Engineer’s Cabin

• Take a closer look at the bottom portion of the cabinet and input the code “4082”.

• Click on the ALLEN WRENCH inside to add it to your inventory.

• Back in the main portion of the cabin, take a closer look at the electrical box in the upper right corner. Use the ALLEN WRENCH to open it, then click on the inside to trigger a puzzle.
• Arrange the wires so they don’t cross. To move a wire, click on a green point, release the mouse button, drag the point to a new node, and then click again. The solution is shown below.

• Once the puzzle is finished, click on the electrical box lever so it’s in the down position.
• Return to the Passenger Cabin.

Passenger Cabin

• Take a closer look at the small lamp in the upper right corner. Click on the chord to restore light.
• Click on the hidden object area that appears over the right seat.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Clicking on the table reveals a close-up with more objects to be found. Clicking the envelope will cause it to fall, revealing a new object.

• Upon completing the area, the ZIPPER SLIDER will be added to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the bag to the left of the table, sitting next to the ghost. Use the ZIPPER SLIDER on the zipper, then click to unzip the bag. Click on the RECORD inside to add it to your inventory.
• Backtrack all the way to the Living Room.

Living Room

• Take a closer look at the record player on the left. Use the RECORD on the player, then click on the crank handle to play it. Click on the PORTRAIT (2) and the KEY that appears to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Main Hall.

Main Hall

• Take a closer look at the white door on the lower floor on the left. Use the KEY on the lock to unlock the door and gain access to the next area.

Dining Hall

• Speak with the woman on the left, then click on the hidden object area that appears.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the gold pot on the table to open it and reveal more hidden objects inside.

• Upon completing the area, the OILER will be added to your inventory.
• Back in the main area, click on the BEYOND OBJECT 12/35 to collect it, then take a closer look at the platter on the left. Click to open it, then click on the APPLE inside to add it to your inventory. Also examine the painting above the plate cabinet to the left of the door on the far end of the room and click on the HATCHET to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the train’s Passenger Cabin.

Passenger Cabin

• Click on the hidden object area over the seat on the right.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the table for a closer view of more objects.

• Upon completing the area, the TRAIN will be added to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the bloody window. Use the OILER on the latches, then click to open the window. Click on the HANDKERCHIEF to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Engine Room.

Engine Room

• Take a closer look at the tall lever on the right. Use the HANDKERCHIEF on the dirt at the base to remove it, revealing the train speeds. Click on the lever so it’s in the “Stop” position.
• Click on the hidden object area that appears over the boiler.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the bucket on the right for a close-up with more hidden objects.

• Upon completing the area, the HOT COALS will be added to your inventory.
• Back in the main area, take a closer look at the hatch on the lower left, next to the stacked pile of wood. Use the HOT COALS on the lock and chain, then use the HATCHET to break it. Click on the PORTRAIT (3) and the TRAIN TRACKS inside to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Boy’s Room.

Boy’s Room

• Speak with the boy sitting on the bed; he will give you the FIGURINE.
• Take a closer look at the model table on the right.
• Use the TRAIN TRACKS on the missing portion of track on the right, then click on the train carriage for a closer view. Place the FIGURINE inside. Next, place the TRAIN on the track in front of the carriage. Use the CUP OF COFFEE on the hole in the top of the train, then click to zoom in for a closer view. Use the LIGHTER on the wood inside the miniature boiler to light it. Finally, click on the lever next to the train and track to send the train on its way.

Chapter 4: Stone Heart

Boy’s Room

• Click on the bookcase (formerly wardrobe) on the left for a closer view. Click on the RULER and the CORKSCREW to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Dining Hall.

Dining Hall

• Take a closer look at the doorway at the far end of the room. Use the RULER on the gap in the door to open it, then proceed forward.

Kitchen

• Open the oven and the cabinet on the right, though there’s nothing you can do in these areas just yet.
• Click to open the drawer at the top of the center island, towards the left. Click on the KNIFE inside the drawer to add it to your inventory.
• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 13/35 to collect it, then click on the cabinet below to open it and get a closer view. Click on the POT and the PORTRAIT (4) beneath to add them to your inventory. Next, take a closer look at the island counter top. Use the CORKSCREW on the bottle, then pour it into the glass. Click on the HOCK CUP and the CORK to add them to your inventory. Then, use the KNIFE on the cheese and click on the small piece of CHEESE to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the water barrel in the corner on the counter. Use the POT on the area beneath the spigot, then exit for now.
• Proceed forward through the doorway at the far end of the room.

Elevator

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 14/35 to collect it, then click on the CHAMOMILE to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Dining Hall.

Dining Hall

• Give the HOCK CUP to the woman sitting on the left, then watch the cutscene. Once it’s over, click on the hidden object area that appears over the table.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the gold pot on the table to reveal more hidden objects.

• Upon completing the area, the TELESCOPE will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Boy’s Room.

Boy’s Room

• Take a closer look at the window at the far end of the room. Use the TELESCOPE on the telescope stand, then click for a closer view. Take note of the constellation pattern.
• Take a closer look at the bird hanging over the bed. Click on the buttons to light them up so that they match the pattern of the constellation: the solution is shown below.

• Once the bird opens up, click on the PIECE OF HOSE inside to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Elevator.

Elevator

• Take a closer look at the contraption on the right. Use the PIECE OF HOSE on it to repair it, then click on the lever on the right to operate the elevator.
• Proceed through the open door (now a few levels down) to access the next area.

Cellar

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 15/35 to collect it, then click on the BROOM and the SLED to add them to your inventory. Also, use the CHEESE on the hole beneath the shelves on the right and click on the MOUSE that comes out to add it to your inventory.

• Click on the hidden object area at the back of the room.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the open box on the left for a close-up with more hidden objects.

• Upon completing the area, the ROSE will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Dining Hall (click on the lever on the right of the elevator to go back up).

Dining Hall

• Take a closer look at the fireplace mantle at the other end of the room. Place the ROSE and the CHAMOMILE on the mantle, and then all the flowers will move down to the decorative plaques below. Arrange them in the proper order as shown below.

• Once finished, the fireplace will open. Click on it for a closer view. Use the BROOM to remove the cobwebs, then click on the HOOK and the PORTRAIT (5) to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Library.

Library

• Take a closer look at the Family Tree on the back wall. Place the PORTRAITS (1-5) onto the wall, then click on the SKULL-SHAPED KEY to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Dining Hall.

Dining Hall

• Take a closer look at the snowy painting on the right. Use the SKULL-SHAPED KEY on the gate to open it, revealing a portal into another area.
• Enter the portal.

Sculptor’s Yard

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 16/35 to collect it, then take a closer look at the top of the ladder in the distance. Click on the EGG and the LADLE to add them to your inventory.

• Notice the large stone on the left. Use the SLED on the stone, then click on it to push it, where it will crash through a door in the distance (giving you access to that area for a little later).
• Click on the hidden object area over the fountain in the distance.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the plaid blanket to move it.

• Upon completing the area, the SILVER SKULL will be added to your inventory.
• Enter the closest doorway on the right, through which the sled crashed.

Sculptor’s Workshop

• Use the HOOK on the left rope hanging from the ceiling, then take a closer look at the fountain on the left. Use the CORK on the pipe in the bird’s mouth to block it, then use the LADLE on the standing water to scoop it out, revealing the GOLD SKULL. Click on it to add it to your inventory.

• Back in the main area, click on the BEYOND OBJECT 17/35 to collect it.

• Click on the hidden object area at the far end of the room.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the gold box on the shelf for a further close-up.

• Upon completing the area, the FISHING ROD will be added to your inventory.
• Return outside.

Sculptor’s Yard

• Take a closer look at the front of the house, then take a closer look at the mailbox on the left. Click to open it, then click on the GEAR inside to add it to your inventory.

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 18/35 to collect it.

• Return to the Sculptor’s Workshop.

Sculptor’s Workshop

• Use the GEAR on the gear with the crank on the left wall, then click to use it, raising the heavy stone off the floor.
• Take a closer look at the broken section of floor beneath the now hanging stone. Click on the PORTRAIT (1) and the KEY to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Sculptor’s Yard.

Sculptor’s Yard

• Take a closer look at the front of the house again, then zoom in on the front door. Use the KEY on the lock to gain access and enter the house.

Sculptor’s House

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 19/35 to collect it.

• Examine the chest at the foot of the bed on the right. Place the SILVER SKULL and the GOLD SKULL in the empty slots to trigger a puzzle.
• Place each skull where it belongs. To move a skull, click on it. Click on the skulls in the following order to solve the puzzle: Bronze, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Gold. The solution is shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, the chest will open. Click on the PORTRAIT (2) and the GRINDSTONE inside to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Sculptor’s Workshop.

Sculptor’s Workshop

• Use the GRINDSTONE on the second table on the right to trigger a puzzle.
• Assemble the grinder. The completed solution is shown below.

• Exit to the Sculptor’s Yard.

Sculptor’s Yard

• Continue forward across the small bridge in the distance to the Cemetery.

Cemetery

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 20/35 to collect it, then take a closer look at the hole in the ice on the right. Use the FISHING ROD to obtain the TONGS from underwater and add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Sculptor’s House.

Sculptor’s House

• Take a closer look at the deer head on the back wall. Use the TONGS to pry the mouth open and click on the DIAMOND-SHAPED KEY inside to add it to your inventory.

• Backtrack all the way back to the Cellar.

Cellar

• Take a closer look at the drawer with the diamond-shaped lock. It’s located in the top right corner of the screen. Use the DIAMOND-SHAPED KEY on the lock to open the drawer, then click on the PORTRAIT (3) and the DUSTPAN inside to add them to your inventory.

• Click on the hidden object area at the back of the room.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. The open box on the lower left has a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the LOGS will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Sculptor’s Yard.

Sculptor’s Yard

• Use the LOGS on the stump on the left.
• For now, enter the Sculptor’s Workshop again.

Sculptor’s Workshop

• Click on the hidden object area at the back of the room.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the gold box on the upper shelf for a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the SHOVEL will be added to your inventory.
• Back in the main area, take a closer look at the pile of debris on the floor on the right. Use the DUSTPAN to clean it up, then click on the HEART to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Cemetery.

Cemetery

• Take a closer look at the graves on the left. Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 21/35 to collect it, then use the HEART on the stone plaque on the ground.

• Talk with the ghost that appears on the left, then take a closer look at the dirt in front of the right grave. Use the SHOVEL on the dirt patch to expose the coffin, then click on the AXE on top to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Sculptor’s Workshop

Sculptor’s Workshop

• Take a closer look at the grinder on the right side towards the back of the workshop. Use the AXE on the grinder to acquire the SHARP AXE.
• Go outside to the Sculptor’s Yard.

Sculptor’s Yard

• Use the SHARP AXE on the log on the left to trigger a puzzle.
• Split all of the logs. To split a log, click on the ax when it’s lined up with the partial split. An example is shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, the FIREWOOD will be added to your inventory.
• Once the puzzle is complete, a hidden object area will appear over the stone fountain in the distance. Click on it.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below.

• Upon completing the area, the STONE FIGURINE will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Cemetery.

Cemetery

• Take a closer look at the grave on the right, then take a closer look at the head of the coffin. Use the STONE FIGURINE on the panel to trigger a puzzle.
• Arrange the figurines in a horizontal row along the center of the puzzle. Click on one figurine moves multiple figurines. Move the figurines in the order numbered below to solve the puzzle. The final solution is also shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, the head of the coffin will open. Take a closer look inside and click on the GOLD KEY to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Sculptor’s House.

Sculptor’s House

• Take a closer look at the desk table in the corner. Use the GOLD KEY on the locked box to open it, then click on the PORTRAIT (4) and the VALVE HANDLE to add them to your inventory.

• Backtrack to the Kitchen.

Kitchen

• Take a closer look at the small water tank (where you placed the Pot earlier) in the corner. Use the VALVE HANDLE on the spigot, then click to fill the pot with water. Click on it to obtain the POT OF WATER.
• Back in the main portion of the Kitchen, place the FIREWOOD inside the stove and the POT OF WATER on top of it. Use the LIGHTER to light the wood, then once finished, click on the POT OF BOILING WATER to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the frozen bench between the house and the workshop. Use the POT OF BOILING WATER on the frozen PICKAXE on the right side of the bench to thaw it, then click on it to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the head of the princess statue near the window. Use the PICKAXE on the statue’s face, then click on the SKULL to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Cemetery.

Cemetery

• Take a closer look at the grave on the right, then click on the coffin for a closer view. Use the SKULL on the skeleton within the coffin to restore it.

Chapter 5: Cursed Painting

Dining Hall

• Talk with the woman on the left. Once finished, a hidden object area will appear over the table.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the gold pot for a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the TRIANGULAR KEY will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Cellar.

Cellar

• Take a closer look at the locked cabinet door on the bottom shelf between the treasure chest and the barrels. Use the TRIANGULAR KEY on the slot to unlock and open it. Use the KNIFE on the sack to cut it open, revealing the SEED. Click on it to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Second Floor.

Second Floor

• Click on the hidden object area at the back of the corridor.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the two cabinets for close-up areas.

• Upon completing the area, the WEIGHT will be added to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the window sill on the left. Use the SEED in the bowl, then click on the HEART around the bird’s foot to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the second door on the right. Use the HEART on the lock groove to unlock the door, then open it and proceed inside.

Girl’s Room

• Talk with the girl sitting on the bed.
• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 22/35 to collect it, then take a closer look at the bird cage on the right. Click on the CROSS-SHAPED KEY lying in front of the cage to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Cellar.

Cellar

• Take a closer look at the shelf drawer in the upper left corner of the screen. Use the CROSS-SHAPED KEY on the lock to open it, then click on the PORTRAIT (5) and the CROWBAR to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Girl’s Room.

Girl’s Room

• Take a closer look at the boarded door on the far end of the room on the left. Use the CROWBAR to remove the boards, then proceed through to the next area.

Scorched Room

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 23/35 to collect it.

• Take a closer look at the small table in front of the painting. Click on the YELLOW STONES sitting on the palette to add them to your inventory, then note the instructions on the table. Use the EGG on the wooden bowl, then pick up the brown cup (containing water) next to the palette and pour it in the bowl with the egg. Exit for now.
• Take a closer look at the couch on the right. Click on the middle cushion to lift it, then click on the EYE and the CHESS PIECE to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Living Room.

Living Room

• Take a closer look at the fireplace mantle at the back of the room. Place the WEIGHT on the left scale, then use the YELLOW STONES on the mantle to trigger a puzzle.
• Weigh 200 grams of yellow stones. To place a stone on the scale, click and drag it onto the right plate. The solution is shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, the 200 GRAMS OF YELLOW STONES will be added to your inventory.
• Before leaving, click on the BEYOND OBJECT 24/35 to collect it.

• Return to the Main Hall.

Main Hall

• Take a closer look at the gargoyle sitting on the banister. Use the EYE on the empty socket to restore it, then take a closer look at the compartment that opens on the steps. Click on the PORTRAIT (6) to add it to your inventory.

• Click on the hidden object area over the couch on the right.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the couch cushion to both lower and raise it. Raise it to reveal a close-up location.

• Upon completing the area, the PAINTBRUSH will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Scorched Room.

Scorched Room

• Take a closer look at the small table in front of the painting. Place the 200 GRAMS OF YELLOW STONES in the mortar and use the pestle to crush it. Next, pour the contents of the mortar into the wooden bowl. Use the whisk to mix it all together, then use the PAINTBRUSH on the contents of the wooden bowl to obtain the PAINTBRUSH WITH PAINT.
• Take a closer look at the door drawing at the back of the room. Use the PAINTBRUSH WITH PAINT on the drawing to create a real door.
• Return to the Library.

Library

• Take a closer look at the Family Tree on the back wall. Place the PORTRAITS (1-6) into the slots. Upon placing the last, click on the EMERALD KEY that appears to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Scorched Room.

Scorched Room

• Take a closer look at the door at the back of the room. Use the EMERALD KEY on the lock slot to open it, then proceed through the portal.

Gallery

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 25/35 to collect it.

• Click on the hidden object area over the desk.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the wooden box on the left to open it and reveal a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the LADDER will be added to your inventory.
• Click on the container on the small table on the far right to knock it down, then click for a closer view. Click on the PORTRAIT (1) and the KEY to add them to your inventory.

• Proceed through the bottom doorway at the far end of the room into the next area.

• Talk with the little girl sitting on the left.

• Use the LADDER on the gap between the balcony railing towards the right (beneath the open doorway), then proceed through the upper doorway to the next area.

• Click on the things that are the same in both paintings. There are 15 things in total. The solution is shown below.

• Take a closer look at the stone pedestal on the right. Use the FIRE STONE on the groove to open a fiery well, then click on the PIANO KEY (3) inside to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the piano on the left. Use the PIANO KEYS (1-3) on the piano to restore them, then exit for now.
• Back in the main area, take a closer look at the house model beneath the window. Use the WATER MILL on the slot on the right, then click on the red switch to activate it. Click on the PORTRAIT (2) and the STAR-SHAPED KEY inside to add them to your inventory.

• Go back down to the Cellar.

Cellar

• Click on the hidden object area at the back of the room.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the open box on the left for a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the HACKSAW will be added to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the shelves on the left at the back of the room and the diamond-shaped door in the middle of them. Use the STAR-SHAPED KEY on the lock slot to open it, then click on the PIGEON HEAD to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Girl’s Room.

Girl’s Room

• Take a closer look at the bird cage on the right. Use the PIGEON HEAD on the slot to open the cage, then click on the SHEET MUSIC inside to add it to your inventory.
• Click on the piano on the left for a closer view. Use the SHEET MUSIC on the piano to trigger a puzzle.
• Play the correct melody on the piano. The numbered keys you should press is as follows: 5, 6, 3, 7, 4.
• Upon completing the puzzle, take a closer look at the secret compartment that opens up in the piano. Click on the PORTRAIT (3) to add it to your inventory, and take note of the positions of the figures.

• Return to the Gallery.

Gallery

• Click on the hidden object area over the desk on the left.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. There’s a close-up area within the box on the left.

• Upon completing the area, the NEEDLE & THREAD will be added to your inventory.
• Back in the main area, take a closer look at the window on the far left. Use the KNIFE to cut the purple FLOWER and add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Attic.

• Click on the hidden object area over the chair on the right.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. There’s a close-up area in the second drawer on the left.

• Upon completing the area, the GONDOLA will be added to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the hourglass attached to the central beam post. Use the HACKSAW on it to obtain the HOURGLASS.
• Take a closer look at the area on the wall just above the head of the bed. Click on the figures to rotate them so their positions match the clue from earlier. The solution is shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, the bed will move to the side.
• Return to the Artist’s Workshop.

Artist’s Workshop

• Take a closer look at the painting on the easel in the middle of the room. Place the FLOWER, the GONDOLA, and the HOURGLASS onto the still life table on the left to trigger a puzzle.
• Paint the still life. To paint the still life, click on the desired color on the palette, and then click on the correct spot on the painting. The solution is shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, use the KNIFE on the painting, then click on it to obtain the STILL LIFE.
• Back in the main area, give the STILL LIFE to the little girl.
• Return to the Attic.

Attic

• Take a closer look at the area on the floor that was previously beneath the bed. Click on the panel for a closer view.
• Click on the shoulders and forearms of the gondolier to correctly position his arms. The solution is shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, click on the PORTRAIT (4) and the SOLVENT to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Scorched Room.

Scorched Room

• Take a closer look at the painting on the left. Use the SOLVENT on the painting, then use the KNIFE on it. Click on the CURSED PAINTING to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Artist’s Workshop.

Artist’s Workshop

• Take a closer look at the empty frame in the middle of the room. Use the CURSED PAINTING on the frame, then use the NEEDLE & THREAD to sew it in. Click on the CURSED PAINTING to add it to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the fiery well on the right. Use the CURSED PAINTING on the well and watch what happens.

Chapter 6: Bloody Mary

Scorched Room

• Click on the PORTRAIT (5) on the back wall to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Second Floor.

• Take a closer look at the broken mirror on the right. Use the CRIMSON KEY on the lock within the mirror to open it, then proceed through the portal that appears.

Field

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 29/35 to collect it.

• Take a closer look at the scarecrow on the left. Use the KNIFE to cut it open, then click on the EYE inside to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the fork in the path/the ground area with the barrels in front of the windmill. Click on the PORTRAIT (1) to add it to your inventory.

• Still in the close-up, use the FIRECRACKER on the three stones in the corner, then use the LIGHTER to light it and set it off. Watch what happens, then take a closer look at the same close-up area again. Click on the HARNESS that has fallen to the ground to add it to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the ox on the right, then click on the ox again for a close-up of the animal. Use the HARNESS on it, then click on the ends of the cart to hook it up to the harness.
• Back in the first close-up, click on the BEYOND OBJECT 30/35 to collect it.

• Exit the close-up/return to the Field. From there, enter the Mill.

Mill

• Take a closer look at the table on the left. Click on the PORTRAIT (2) and the ACID to add them to your inventory.

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 31/35 to collect it.

• Notice the hook hanging from the chain on the right. Use the LANTERN on the hook, then click on the wooden flap below to open it and reveal a hidden object area.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the crate on the left to open it and reveal a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the WHIP will be added to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the parts lying in front of the middle section of the mill for a puzzle.
• Assemble the grinder. To assemble the grinder, click and drag its parts into place. The solution is shown below.

• Exit back to the Field.

• Proceed forward to the Forest.

Forest

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 32/35 to collect it.

• Take a closer look at the hole in the tree on the upper left. Click on the RESIN to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the front door of the hut. Use the ACID on the vines covering the door to get rid of them and gain access to the Hut.

Hut

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 33/35 to collect it, then click on the SCYTHE BLADE to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the table straight ahead. Click on the BAT WINGS in the bowl to add them to your inventory, then take note of the recipe on the table.
• Take a closer look at the fireplace mantle. Give the MOUSE to the black cat, then click on the PORTRAIT (3), the FROG LEGS, and the MIRROR FRAGMENT to add them to your inventory.

• Examine the closest treasure chest on the left. Use the EYE on the lock slot to open it, then click on the HAIR and the MERCURY inside to add them to your inventory.

• Click on the hidden object area on the right.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the boards above the “8” to lift them and reveal a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the ACORN will be added to your inventory.
• Click on the wooden hatch on the floor on the right to open it, then take a closer look inside. Read the note, then click on the CHAIN to add it to your inventory.

• Back in the main area, click on the large empty gold mirror frame towards the back on the left to trigger a puzzle.
• Assemble the magic mirror. To assemble the mirror, click and drag its pieces into place. Before completing the puzzle, click on the BEYOND OBJECT 34/35 to collect it. The puzzle solution and location of the object are shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, use the MIRROR FRAGMENT on the remaining missing area.
• Exit to the Field.

Field

• Take a closer look at the ox. Use the CHAIN on the area between the shut door and the cart, then take a closer look at the ox. Use the WHIP on the ox to remove the door, then take a closer look at the opening. Click on the PORTRAIT (4) and the BUCKET to add them to your inventory.

• Backtrack to the Kitchen.

Kitchen

• Take a closer look at the cabinet on the immediate right. Use the ACORN on the nutcracker to obtain the NUT KERNEL and click to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Mill.

Mill

• Take a look at the scythe handle beneath the lit lantern on the left. Use the SCYTHE BLADE on the handle, then click to obtain the SCYTHE.
• Return to the Forest.

Forest

• Take a closer look at the hole in the tree on the upper left. Use the NUT KERNEL on the squirrel, then once it disappears, click on the PORTRAIT (5) and the GEMS to add them to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the well next to the hut. Use the BUCKET on the well, then exit for now.
• Take a closer look at the patch of grass on the right. Use the SCYTHE on the grass to cut it, then click on the PORTRAIT (6) and the PITCHFORK to add them to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the closed chest sitting on the floor. Use the BLOOD KEY on the lock slot to open it, then click on the PORTRAIT (7) and the WOLF BLOOD to add them to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the fireplace. Use the FLOUR, the FROG LEGS, the WOLF BLOOD, the RESIN, the BAT WINGS, the MERCURY, and the CRUSHED GEMS on the pot, then click on it to add the POTION to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the cracked mirror at the back of the room. Use the POTION on the mirror, then place the HAIR in the skeletal hand and use the LIGHTER to light it.
• Watch the cutscene.

Chapter 7: Gabriel’s Message

Living Room

• Talk with the man sitting on the couch.
• Take a closer look at the small table on the right, where the mirror portal previously stood. Click on the PORTRAIT (8) and the FILM REEL to add them to your inventory.

• Enter the Library.

Library

• Proceed forward to the Family Tree. Place the PORTRAITS (1-8) into the slots.
• Upon completing the Family Tree, the wall will move, revealing a new room. Proceed forward.

Secret Office

• Click on the BEYOND OBJECT 35/35 to collect it.

• Click on the red curtains to part them, revealing a small area with a projector. Click for a closer view. Use the FILM REEL on the projector, then watch the cutscene.
• Click on the PRUNING SHEARS to add them to your inventory, then take a closer look at the device in the middle of the room. Click on the HEXAGONAL PUZZLE PIECE to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Main Hall.

Main Hall

• Take a closer look at the circular design on the floor. Use the HEXAGONAL PUZZLE PIECE on the missing portion to trigger a puzzle.
• Assemble the image by rotating its pieces. To rotate a piece, click on it. The solution is shown below.

• Upon completing the puzzle, click on the LANTERN that appears to add it to your inventory.

• Go outside to the Entrance.

Entrance

• Take a closer look at the statue to the left of the entrance doors. Use the LANTERN on the hooks to restore it, then take a closer look at the panel that appears above the entrance doors. Take note of the symbols and their order.
• Use the PRUNING SHEARS on the bush to the left at the foot of the stairs, then click for a closer look and add the BOOK to your inventory.

• Return to the Library.

Library

• Take a closer look at the books at the top of the ladder on the left. Use the BOOK on the empty space, then rearrange them so that the symbols on their spines match the ones above the entrance doors. Arranging them correctly (as shown below) will reveal a secret compartment containing the GLOBE. Click on it to add it to your inventory.

• Proceed to the Secret Office.

Secret Office

• Take a closer look at the shelf on the left. Click on the GEM (1) to add it to your inventory.
• Next, take a closer look at the small circular table on the left. Use the CHESS PIECE on the board, then use the bishop to take the black bishop sitting diagonally away. When the board splits, click on the GEM (2) inside to add it to your inventory.
• Examine the helmet of the suit of armor on the right. Click on the mask to lift it, revealing the GEM (3) inside. Click on it to add it to your inventory.
• Examine the device in the center of the room. Use the GLOBE on the center, then use the GEMS (1-3) on the slots to trigger a cutscene.

• Click on the PLANKS lying on the floor to add them to your inventory, then take a closer look at the mantle and click on the CANDLE to add it to your inventory.

• Take a closer look at the table in the center of the room. Use the CHALK to restore the etching, then use the MATCHES to light the candles and finally the powder on the photo. Click on the resulting ASHES to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Office.

• Take a closer look at the desk on the left. Use the FEATHER on the inkwell to obtain the FEATHER WITH INK.
• Next, take a closer look at the table on the right. Use the GLUE on the arrow to repair it, then use the FEATHER WITH INK to restore the letters and numbers on the board. Use the ASHES on the board to summon the ghosts.
• Once the ghosts appear, speak with them.
• Return to the Girl’s Room.

Girl’s Room

• Speak with the girl. She will give you the KEYS.
• Go back to the house’s Living Room.

Living Room

• Take a closer look at the door under the stairs at the far end of the room. Use the KEYS to unlock the door and proceed through to the next area.

Passage

• Click on the OAR and the HAMMER to add them to your inventory. Take a closer look at the boarded-up window on the right and use the HAMMER to remove the boards. Then, take a closer look at the chair and click on the BOWL to add it to your inventory as well.

• Return to the Entrance.

Entrance

• Take a closer look at the top of the lamppost on the left. Use the BOWL on the dripping OIL to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Passage.

Passage

• Take a closer look at the door at the far end of the corridor. Use the OIL on the latch, then proceed outside to the next area.

Back Yard

• Click on the hidden object area in the gazebo on the left.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the basin in the middle for a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the SCREWDRIVER will be added to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the end of the dock on the right. Click on the large STONE to add it to your inventory.
• Backtrack to the Boy’s Room.

Boy’s Room

• Take a closer look at the rocking horse in front of the bed. Use the SCREWDRIVER to remove the screws from the seat, then click on the seat to open it. Click on the ARROW inside to add it to your inventory.
• Examine the crossbow sitting on the dresser on the right. Use the ARROW on the crossbow to obtain the CROSSBOW and add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Back Yard.

Back Yard

• Take a closer look at the end of the dock. Click on the rope tying the boat to the dock until it’s all coiled up, then use the CROSSBOW on the boat in the distance to bring it in. Click on the FIGURINE inside the boat to add it to your inventory.

• Place the OAR in the boat, then exit for now.
• Return to the Upstairs.

Upstairs

• Take a closer look at the gap in the middle of the planks. Use the STONE on the seesaw plank below to catapult the KEY up, then click on it to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Office.

Office

• Examine the table on the right. Click on the paper at the top of the Ouija board to obtain the PIECE OF A DRAWING for your inventory.
• Return to the Séance Room.

Séance Room

• Take a closer look at the shelves with the figures on the left. Use the PIECE OF A DRAWING and the FIGURINE on the shelves to trigger a puzzle.
• Place each figure where it belongs. Use the paper as a clue reference. The solution is shown below.

• Enter the secret doorway that appears.

Secret Room

• Take a closer look at the dresser on the left. Use the KEY on the locked drawer to open it, then click on the diary inside for a closer view, clicking on the HARP STRINGS to add them to your inventory.

• Return to the Séance Room.

Séance Room

• Click on the hidden object area that appears.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the white box for a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the PRUNING SHEARS will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Office.

Office

• Take a closer look at the harp on the left. Use the HARP STRINGS on the harp, then click on the FLOWER that appears to add it to your inventory.

• Exit to the House Entrance.

House Entrance

• Take a closer look at the basement doors on the left. Use the PRUNING SHEARS to cut the wires and enter the Cellar.

Cellar

• Click on the OAR leaning against the crates on the left to add it to your inventory.
• Examine the small mess on the floor. Use the BROOM to clean it up, revealing a design in which the central disk is missing. Use the DISK on it to trigger a puzzle.
• Restore the drawing. To restore the drawing, click on the circles to rotate them. The solution is shown below.

• When the disc opens, click on the JACK to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Back Yard.

Back Yard

• Take a closer look at the edge of the dock. Use the OAR on the boat and proceed across the lake to the Island.

Island

• Talk with the ghostly man sitting on the left.
• Take a closer look at the foot of the memorial. Click on the SHOVEL to add it to your inventory.
• Return to the Back Yard.

Back Yard

• Click on the hidden object area over the gazebo.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the basin to view a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the HAMMER will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Front Yard.

Front Yard

• Take a closer look at the planter to the left of the lion statue. Use the SHOVEL on the dirt, then click on the MAGNET to add it to your inventory.

• Go back to the Secret Room.

Secret Room

• Take a closer look at the cracks in the floor in front of the bedside table on the right. Use the MAGNET on the tears to retrieve the RAZORBLADE and add it to your inventory.
• Take a closer look at the rug at the foot of the bed. Use the JACK on the bed then click to lift it. Next, click on the rug to pull it out, revealing a heart-shaped box. Use the FLOWER on the groove on the top of the box to open it and reveal the missing diary page.

• Return to the Upstairs.

Upstairs

• Take a closer look at the painting hanging on the wall on the left. Use the RAZORBLADE to cut out a section of the painting, then click on the TAP to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Cellar.

Cellar

• Click on the red curtains to part them, then take a closer look at the large wine barrel. Use the TAP on the wine barrel, then click to drain the barrel of fluid. Click on the pole stuck beneath the barrel to roll it aside.
• Examine the back wall of the cellar.
• Return to the Island.

Island

• Take a closer look at the memorial statue. Use the HAMMER to break away some of the stone, revealing the locket in full.
• Return to the Front Yard.

Front Yard

• Click on the hidden object area over the gazebo.
• Find the objects listed at the bottom of the screen: their locations are shown below. Click on the basket on the right for a close-up area.

• Upon completing the area, the PICKAXE will be added to your inventory.
• Return to the Cellar.

Cellar

• Take a closer look at the back wall. Use the PICKAXE to break open the wall, then take a closer look at the skeleton within. Click on the HALF OF A LOCKET to add it to your inventory.

• Return to the Island.

Island

• Take a closer look at the memorial statue. Use the HALF OF A LOCKET on the locket to restore it, then click on the COMPLETE LOCKET to add it to your inventory.

• Give the COMPLETE LOCKET to the ghost, then watch the cutscene that follows.
