Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials Guide

Now, let’s move on to the guide!

What Are Merlin Trials?

Merlin Trials are short challenges that can be found throughout Hogwarts Legacy. You’ll mainly come across them as you traverse the outside world, whether you’re walking on verdant grass, or flying high on a broom.

These challenges are mostly puzzled based, so it’s no surprise that they can be pretty difficult at times. By completing Merlin Trials, you can unlock additional gear slots for your inventory!

Additionally, there are different types of Merlin Trials to come across. Let’s take a look!

  • Smash the Orbs
  • Symbol
  • Light the Torches
  • Stones that Stand
  • Gathering Moths
  • Repair the Statues
  • Spell Football
  • Explode the Stones

Merlin Trials Solutions

Now, you’re probably wondering how you can solve each of these challenges. We’ll pop the solutions down below for each type!

  • Symbols – Use the Flipendo spell in the order of the symbols to line up with the plinths’. The arrows on the cubes can help you to dictate where the cubes need to go!
  • Gathering Moths – Use the Lumos spell to attract moths, and then direct them to the crystals inside the cubes
  • Light the Torches – Use the Incendio spell, or Confringo, to light the torches before they sink too far into the ground
  • Explode the Stones – Use the Confringo spell to blow the stones up
  • Spell in the Goal – Use Wingardiam Levisoa or purple and yellow spells that focus on movement to guide the ball into the goal
  • Smash the Orbs – Use the Accio spell to destroy each orb on the pillars
  • Repair the Statues – Use the Reparo spell to fix each broken statue
  • Stones that Stand – Use Confringo to break all of the large stones around the trial marker

How to Unlock Merlin Trials

While you find Merlin Trials as you explore the world, you need to actually unlock the feature to begin with. Once you reach the “Trials of Merlin” quest, you’ll unlock Merin Trials after completing it!
