What Are Eye Chests?

Eye Chests are exactly what the name might suggest. They’re treasure chests with big, animate eyes set into them. If they see you approaching, they’ll slam themselves shut, and they’re not easy to sneak up on.

Where Can You Find Them?

Eye Chests are scattered all around both the school and the surrounding area.  If you’re hunting around, you can use the Revelio spell to highlight objects you can interact with in the area, and will let you peer through walls.

How Do You Open Eye Chests?

You can’t catch Eye Chests out by sneaking or staying out of their line of sight. You’ll have to use magic to avoid their gaze. Fortunately, there is a spell for that. Disillusionment will render the player character invisible, and you can pick it up during the ‘Secrets of the Restricted Section’ quest, which is part of the main questline.

What Can You Get From Eye Chests?

Each Eye Chest rewards you with a hefty 500 galleons on looting one, very handy if you want to go shopping or deck out the Room of Requirement.
