General Game Information

Happy Aquarium
  • Aquarium simulation game developed by Crowdstar games and released on Facebook in September of 2009.
  • Purchase, adopt, or breed fish for selling or for developing a beautiful aquarium for your enjoyment.
  • You will raise baby fish to adulthood train them to increase their value and then sell them so they can be released back into the ocean.
  • There are 45 levels in the game and each level unlocks additional breeds of fish, decor items, and gifts that can be used in the game.
  • Neighbors are an important aspect of the game. Visiting neighbors will earn you coins and XP (experience points) and will help you to advance through the levels faster. You can also have friends send gifts to you and send you options to adopt cute sea creatures that can be bred for future profits.
  • You have the option of naming each fish, choosing its gender, and training your fish to do tricks.
  • You can have up to 8 aquariums each holding an minimum of 15 and maximum of 40 fish per 125 Gallon tank.
  • You can move fish and decor items between tanks by clicking on the fish and then the switch button on the upper right.
  • Each day you earn XP and coins by cleaning your tanks, feeding your fish, and visiting your neighbors and doing the same things for them.
  • There is a daily award of coins available by placing a chest in your tank. Click it once per day and you will be awarded coins. Click on your neighbor’s chests once a day and earn coins from them as well.
  • While training each fish to do tricks you can earn coins and additional food for your tank.
  • There are 8 tricks you can train each fish to do. Tapping on the glass triggers your and your Neighbor’s fish to do tricks.
  • Twice a day you can play a coin hunt game with 2 fish of your choice. You can keep all the coins your fish touches within 45 seconds and any prize treasure chests they may find.
  • If you do not feed your fish they will stop growing which causes them to lose value but they will not die.
  • The game resets once every 24 hours at midnight Pacific time.
  • You can only play Happy Aquarium if you have a Facebook account. You can sign up for one here: http://facebook.com
  • If you already have a Facebook account you can access the game here: http://apps.facebook.com/happy-aquarium/

Game Tips

  • It is best to start out with 1 or 2 fish and to not use all your coins right away as it will take a while to build your coins up when you begin.
  • It is critical you have as many Neighbors as possible to raise money in the game. When you send out invitations for Neighbors be sure to include a personal message as this tends to convince others to try the game.
  • The Cleaner your tank the more coins your neighbors get and the cleaner they keep their tanks the more coins you will receive.
  • Keep an eye on the live feeds as you can adopt many sea creatures for free and earn bonus money.
  • Share bonuses whenever possible so people will reciprocate the favor.
  • If a Neighbor has more than one tank you can clean all of them for extra XP points but you can only collect from the chest once.
  • Be sure to check in on your fish and feed them every few hours as this is the fastest way to level up it also keeps your fish growing at a constant rate to allow them to meet their maximum value quickly. In addition to earning XP for shaking the food container you earn 1 XP for every bite of food your fish take. This adds up fast especially if you have more than one tank and several fish.
  • To get the most money for a fish you wish to sell, let the fish reach adulthood and train your fish to learn 7 tricks. Then your fish can be sold for the maximum amount for its species.
  • NOTE – If you send a note to someone in the game take note that it is NOT private. Anyone can read a note left in a tank so make sure you do not put anything you don’t want others to see in your notes.

  • To successfully train your fish or sea creatures you must successfully get them through an obstacle course.
  • You are given 3 tries and if you make a mistake you will start at the exact point you left off.
  • If you are unsuccessful you must wait until your next growth phase has passed before you can try again.
  • Once you choose your fish and click on “train” you will see an instruction screen showing you which items to avoid and which to click on.
  • After a 3 second countdown your fish will begin swimming down a path full of obstacles that must avoid by clicking on them at the exact right moment in order to avoid touching the fish. There are also obstacles that drop down from above such as poisoned food that slows your fish down and squid that release ink into the water impeding your view for a few moments.
  • In addition to the forbidden items there are also gold coins and fish food showering down over your fish. If you click on these items you will be able to keep them if you complete the training session successfully.
  • Items to avoid from above – Poison Fish Food, Purple Squids
  • Items to avoid in front of fish – Fish eating monster plant, Open Umbrella, Fish Hook, Bomb, Cat’s Claws.
  • Once you complete the training session by making it to the finish line your fish will be able to perform a trick when the glass of the tank is tapped on.
  • NOTE – A fully trained fish can sell for 1 to 5 coins more.

Training Tips

Happy Aquarium

Happy Aquarium

  • Some species of fish such as the Cowfish and the Banggai Cardinal grow very large and become very difficult to train. Be sure to train these fish as newborns and as early as possible in their growth phases so they don’t get too big. Once they are large you will have to practice getting them through the training exercises successfully.
  • Umbrella – Make sure your fish’s face is fairly close to the umbrella before you click on it. The umbrella will flash open before it closes. You may have to do this a few times to get the hang of it.
  • Bomb – The second you see the bomb at the far right of the screen click on it to detonate it. It leaves a puff of smoke that disappears quickly but if your fish touches the center of the smoke cloud it will die. Keep your eye on the far right in anticipation of bombs.
  • Monster Plant – Get as close to this as you can before clicking on it as it will open up again quickly. Make sure your fish has time to clear it before it opens again.
  • Fish Hook – This is the easiest obstacle. Click on it before your fish gets too close.
  • Cat Paw – Wait until your fish almost touches the paw before you click on it and by the time the fish moves forward the paw can’t hit your fish when it swats the second time.
