The Griffin, once placed in your garden, summons a cyclone every 15 minutes. Any pets that are hit by the cyclone get a 60-second boost to their ability cooldowns. And if any crops are hit, they have a 10% chance of getting the Cyclonic mutation.
The Cyclonic mutation increases the base selling value of crops by 50x, but of course, can stack with other mutations to increase the value even more. If a crop has the Cyclonic mutation, blue stars float around it, as well as circles of air.
A crop that already has the Tempestuous mutation, once hit with the Cyclonic mutation, then unlocks the Malestrom mutation. Maelstrom crops sell for 100x their base selling value!
The only way to obtain the Griffin pet is by opening Skyroot Chests. This pet has a 1% chance of appearing in this chest type, and it is of the Divine rarity, making it a rare one indeed!

Now, it’s important to remember that the Skyroot Chest is not available in the Main Stock of the Goliath’s Goods shop. Instead, you must unlock the Friendship Stock by levelling the Friendship Level with the Giant NPC to at least 1. Luckily, the Skyroot Chest unlocks at Friendship Level 1, too.
