Gakuran Hair Colors – Dye Chances, Genetics, and Rerolls!
Smells like dye.

Your hair color in Gakuran is one way to express yourself through RNG customisation. However, theres a high chance when rerolling that you only achieve shades of black and dark brown. In this player-made guide, I explore the Gakuran Hair Colors mechanic, telling you how it works and the different color variants possible with rerolls.
Let’s get into it.
Gakuran Hair Colors
The hair color you get when creating a character and rerolling is tied heavily into real-world genetics and ethnicity. For example, Japanese players, which makes up most of the Gakuran population, will have a higher chance to reroll shades of black, whereas a European player has more variety, including blacks, browns, blondes, auburns, etc.
If you want a better chance at rerolling different hair colors, you should first reroll your Ethnicity.
During rerolls, there is a 5% chance of the character receiving a dyed hair color, not part of their natural hair color pool. Dyed hair colors include:
- Red
- Blue
- Purple
- Green
- White: 0.0005% chance
Alongside any other RGB color outside of the ethnicity’s natural hair color set.
Ethnicity
Gakuran has a wide selection of ethnicities to reroll. There is a 95% chance of being Japanese, with the remaining ethnicities accounting for the final 5% of the population. These include: European, African, Middle Eastern, Latino, and Indian.
Of this pool, Europeans have the most natural hair color diversity.
Rerolls
Any player, regardless of ethnicity, has the same chance to roll for dyed hair. But, with a 5% chance, it still requires a lot of reroll investments. For a detailed guide on Rerolls, check out our guide on how to get Rerolls in Gakuran. However, to summarise, here are the primary ways to get Rerolls:
- Code redemption
- All active codes for Gakuran include Rerolls. This is the F2P way to earn Rerolls, and the most recommended method.
- Robux
- Unfortunately, the main way to get Rerolls when you need them is through microtransactions. Rerolls do come in bundle packages, saving you some money if you do opt for this route.
Note: Rerolls are a universal currency in Gakuran. Any rerollable stat only requires Rerolls, and doesn’t splinter off into specfics. For example, out of 10 Rerolls, you can use 5 Rerolls on changing your hairstyle and the remaining 5 on hair color.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose my dyed hair color if I roll it?
No, it’s RNG-based, meaning you could get any shade of an unnatural hair color.
What are the current active codes?
As of July 13th, 2026, the active codes are: 15REROLLS, 2mil, and fixes3.
Why is white hair so rare?
This could be a reference to the serenity of white hair in anime, being both rare and symbolic. That, or it’s more grounded in reality that white hair is incredibly hard to dye and maintain, meaning it isn’t a popular choice for people to choose.
