Game Introduction – Full Bloom

Full Bloom is a puzzle game created by Playdom and Disney. After inheriting a promising garden plot, you make your way through the town of Bloomington and surrounding areas in order to cultivate the most beautiful garden ever seen! Gamezebo’s quick start strategy guide will provide you with detailed images, tips, information, and hints on how to play your best game.

Quick Start Guide

Getting Started

  • Full Bloom is free to play. Click on the “Play Now” button at the top of this page to play!
  • There are three main areas you will be introduced to as you play: the Map, the Quest Areas, and your Garden.
  • The Map is a large overview of all the areas you can travel to. You can access this at any time from your Garden by pressing the large green “Play icon” in the lower right corner.
Full Bloom
  • The Quest Areas (or Locations) are located on the Map. Click on them to access puzzles. By completing puzzles, you can proceed further in the storyline. When you complete a Quest Area, a star rank will be displayed by the area’s icon. New areas you can play have a gold “!” above them, and quest-specific areas have a blue “Q” above them.
  • The Garden is your home base, of sorts. From here, you can customize your plants, layout, etc, and strive to complete various goals.
  • When playing, it’s important you know what all the surrounding buttons and meters mean.
Full Bloom
  • Silver- This is your main currency. You can earn this by playing Quest Areas or completing Quests.
  • Gold- This is your secondary currency, and is much more valuable than Silver. You will only earn 1 Gold per level up.
  • Energy- This is required in order to play Quest Areas/puzzles. It costs 10 energy per play.
  • Experience- This meter gradually fills up as you complete puzzles and tasks. When it’s completely filled, you will increase a level and receive special bonuses.
  • Reputation- This keeps track of your reputation in the area. Certain quests require you have a certain amount of reputation before you can play them. Reputation can be earned by gardening.
  • Settings- From here you can access basic game settings, such as fullscreen and sound options.
  • Newspaper- Updated daily, this shows any special deals that are currently valid.
  • Inventory- This is where any items you receive will be kept until they are used.
  • Shop- Purchase various types of flowers, trees, bushes, and gardening tools from this tab.
  • Decorating- Clicking this will open the decorating loadout, in which you can plant, customize, and rearrange your Garden.
  • Friends- This is where your friends are displayed. You can visit each friend once a day to receive a special bonus!
  • Quests- Both general and storyline-specific quests are displayed here. Complete these to earn rewards, such as experience, silver, and reputation.

How to Play

  • When you enter a puzzle, your goal will immediately be displayed before you begin. Some puzzles are timed, others require you to fill various quotas, such as a certain number of flower petals in a certain number of moves, collecting a certain number of bees, or clearing a certain number of squares.
  • Drag a flower into a position where it matches with 3 or more of the same kind/color. (You can also click to select the flower, then click on the space you would like to move it to).
Full Bloom
  • When you complete a puzzle location, you will be given a star rank. As you replay these areas, you can increase your star rank simply by completing them again. The higher your score, the more is contributed towards the next rank. You will also receive Silver and EXP (Experience) bonuses upon completion.
Full Bloom
  • Sometimes upon completion, you will also receive Water, Sunlight, and Air bonuses. These can be used in your Garden. These bonuses can also be collected during puzzles, by matching them with two of another kind of flower. Water, Sunlight, and Air are considered “wild cards” and can be matched with anything, as long as there is a line of three or more. (They can also be matched with each other in this manner).
Full Bloom
  • When you encounter a puzzle in which you must collect bees, simply match the flowers beneath them to collect them. Keep in mind though that bees do like to move, and that any flower a bee is sitting on cannot be moved while the bee is on it.
  • In the event of a puzzle in which you must clear brush, make matches for flowers that are located over the brush to clear it.
  • In puzzles where you are facing a challenger, the two of you will take turns. Whoever reaches the goal first, wins.
  • Some puzzles will be timed. In such cases, make as many matches as you can before time runs out.
  • By matching four flowers, you can create a Seed. Match a Seed either with flowers of the same color (in a row of 3 or more), or with another power-up to use it.
Full Bloom
  • By matching five flowers, you can create a Petal. Match a Petal either with flowers of the same color (in a row of 3 or more), or with another power-up to use it.
Full Bloom
  • By matching six flowers, you can create a Dandelion. Match a Dandelion with any adjacent flower to use it.
Full Bloom
  • After you’ve use a Dandelion, Wildflowers will appear. These flowers match with anything and everything (so long as a row of 3 is somehow present).
Full Bloom
  • When you’re not playing puzzles, you’ll be in your Garden. This area can be customized, and many of your goals will revolve around challenges here.
  • The main goal in your Garden is to tend to your plants and flowers. By going to the Shop, you can purchase the plant you would like to add to your Garden, then place it into the square you’d like it to be via Decorating mode.
Full Bloom
  • When purchasing a plant, you can view how much it costs, how much Reputation and Experience you will receive for it, as well as how much space it will take up prior to purchase.
Full Bloom
  • By clicking the Decorating button in the lower right corner while in your Garden, you can move, rotate, store, sell, or clear plants. Clear can be used to clear away unwanted dead plants and brush. Clearing these will expand the size of your Garden. By default, extra Clears are awarded to you per level up, so use them wisely.
  • The Decorating button is also an excellent way to arrange your Garden exactly as you would like it.
Full Bloom
  • Each plant has three levels, the first being the default and the third being the highest and most valuable. When a plant is ready to be leveled up, a green flower icon will appear above it. Click on the plant, which will then show you the requisites for the level up, then select level up to cause it to grow to the next stage.
Full Bloom
  • The Shop, which can be accessed while in your Garden, is divided into various plant and genre-specific tabs. Items cost either Silver or Gold to purchase.
  • Completing goals and Quests pertaining to your Garden offers many rewards, including Reputation.
  • Reputation is important. Certain areas of the game cannot be reached until your Reputation has reached a certain level. In the Map, these areas are covered in fog that will be lifted once your Reputation is high enough.
  • You can visit friends’ Gardens once per day and receive a Silver bonus for doing so. Once a friend has been visited for the day, a check mark will appear next to their icon at the bottom of the screen.

Tips and Tricks

  • Make sure you visit your friends everyday in order to collect your bonuses!
  • When it comes to timed puzzles, don’t worry too much about strategy and instead, make as many matches as you can. You can continue to make matches while pairs are “still matching”, so take advantage of this split second of extra time.
  • Special power-ups, such as Seeds and Petals, can be swapped with each other for even more powerful effects. They do not require a third matching flower or power-up when doing this.
  • When you receive a Dandelion, it’s a good idea to use it as soon as possible. The Wildflowers that appear as a result often trigger a series of valuable combos that you’ll want to take advantage of the moment they’re available for the highest scores.
  • Try to save your Gold as much as possible. It can only be earned one at a time via leveling up, so it’s very valuable.
  • It requires 10 energy to play a puzzle. Energy will recharge on its own over time, and the time until the next energy drop can be viewed by moving the cursor over the Energy meter at the top of the screen. If you find yourself about to level up, exit your Garden and use the remainder of your energy to play puzzles and earn stars instead. This is the best use of energy in such circumstances, since it will automatically be refilled upon leveling up.
