Nail Your Start

Getting off the line is one of the important techniques you’re going to have to learn in Forza Street. It’s a pretty simple one though, and once you’ve nailed it you’re going to reap the benefits. Basically you want your rev counter in the green when the countdown hits zero.

Time your presses with the count of the clock – they’re always the same length, so you know when they’re going to change. Different cars have different rev counters, so it’s not an exact science, and you’re going to have to change things around a bit depending what vehicle you’re using.

If you can hit the green at just the right time, every time, then you’re going to be a step ahead of your opponent in almost every race. Try not to over-egg the revs though – it’s better to be under, in the yellow, than over, in the red.

Perfect Corners

It’s pretty easy to hit the braking and acceleration marks on the corners. You need to lift your thumb up when you hit the first yellow section and push it back down again when you hit the second. But there’s more to getting a perfect corner rating than that.

Look closely and you’ll see that there’s one part of both of the yellow sections that’s glowing more fiercely than the rest. Those are the places you need to brake and accelerate to get a perfect corner bonus. In earlier races that’s not super important, but the deeper you get into the game the more you’re going to need to be nailing every turn.

It’s a matter of timing and practice. It’s unlikely you’re going to be getting perfect ratings every time, but the closer you can get the more likely you are to win. It’s amazing how quickly you can see a lead disappear if you hit a couple of okay turns.

When to Boost

Knowing when to use your nitro booster is also really important. It can be tempting to just hit the button to try and gain some ground on your opponent, but if you’re doing it at the wrong time it’s not going to help at all.

The best time to use your nitro is just after you’ve come out of a corner. Push down to start accelerating in the yellow zone, and then instantly unleash your boost. The speed you get coming out of the corner is way more important than the speed you get coming into it – after all you’re going to be braking to take the corner anyway.

When you’re used to the scenery of the tracks, you’re also going to be able to spot when you’re coming to the end of a race. The end of a race is almost always a straight. If you’ve got nitro left, feel free to use it here to make sure you get to the finish line first.

Update Your Garage

There are a number of different kinds of car in Forza Street. Sports cars, Supercars, Muscle cars and Street cars. Certain races require you to have a specific type of car if you want to compete. That means it’s important to upgrade your whole garage, not just a couple of cars that you really like.

Always try and have one of each of the four cars upgraded to a similar level. That way if there are challenges you need to complete you’re not going to be handicapped from the very start by driving a slower car.

You’ll get a lot of cars and tune-up kits for free, so keep checking back daily to get all of your rewards. When you’ve maxed out a car’s level, you can take on upgrade challenges to unlock new parts to make it even more powerful.
