Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is a survival horror game from Scott Cawthon. In this game, you’re a night watchman in a kiddie pizza parlor seemingly possessed by vengeful animatronic animals. Gamezebo’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 tips, cheats and strategies should help you stay alive until 6 AM.

  • Wear headphones – Recognizing and reacting to audio cues is key to surviving Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Every clang, every thud, tells a story. In time, you should be able to recognize where the animatronics are based on sound alone.
  • Listen to Phone Guy’s messages – Hello hello? Phone Guy’s messages are more than just rambling. They deliver important gameplay hints, as well as story information. There’s a different message each night, so listen to each one at least once.
  • Something peering at you from the vent? Put on your Freddy mask, then listen for their departure – If an animatronic is staring at you from a vent, put your mask on right away. That should convince them to move on. Since you can’t see much out of your mask, listen for the thumps that indicate the animatronics have gone somewhere else.
  • If you see the animatronics down the hallway, you’re not in danger – yet – In Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the security office faces a long hallway. This hallway is something of a highway for the animatronics, and you’ll spot them in this area quite often. Putting on the Freddy mask is pointless unless the animatronics are actually in your office, however.

  • Keeping the music box wound up is your number one priority – There’s only one way to thwart the Puppet – you have to keep him contained, which you do by winding up the music box remotely from camera 11. The Puppet can go anywhere and he’s not fooled by the Freddy mask, so if he wakes up, you’re in a lot of trouble.
  • If the music box runs down though, not all hope is lost – If the music box runs out of steam before you can tend to it, don’t drop into the fetal position right away. If the present box in the gift area is open and the Puppet is rising out of it, you can still keep him at bay by keeping the music box wound up. If, however, the present box is open and the Puppet is nowhere to be found, make peace with the deity of your choice. You’re on borrowed time.
  • Monitoring the cameras isn’t as important in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 as it was in the first game – There isn’t much point in keeping track of where the animatronics are in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. There are a lot of them, and you can be assured they’re all out to kill you. The major exception is camera 11, which has the Puppet and the music box. Concentrate your efforts on keeping that music box wound, and on the animatronics creeping down the hall towards your office.
  • Flash your light at Foxy – Foxy isn’t deterred by the Freddy mask. If you see him at the end of the hallway (and you will), flash your flashlight at him. He should wander away eventually.

  • Get in the habit of putting on your Freddy mask the second you put down your camera monitor – It’s extremely common to find someone undesirable in your office after putting down your camera monitor. When this happens, you have a split second to slap your mask on. If you get into the habit of putting on your mask the second you lower your security monitor, you’ll save yourself a lot of deaths.
  • Even if you can’t see Mangle, static indicates he’s in your vicinity – Mangle likes to crawl along the ceiling, so he’s not always visible. If, however, you hear something akin to radio static, it means Mangle is in the neighborhood. Put on your mask until it stops.
  • Balloon Boy can’t hurt you, but he can wreck your night nonetheless – Balloon Boy won’t attack you directly, but he can disable your security monitor and flashlight. Worse, his giggling brings all the animatronics to your yard. When he shows up in the vent, put on your mask to make him go away.
  • Flashlight not working, even though you still have battery power? Look out – the landscape is changing – If your flashlight decides to call it quits even though you have juice left, it usually means the animatronics are on the move. Stay on your toes.
