Luckily, it’s a fairly simple process. When exploring the town, you need to search for NPCs that have a blue exclamation mark above their head. When interacting with these NPCs, they will offer you a choice. One option is good, and one is bad. It’s your job to consistently choose the bad option – as painful as that may be. Eventually, Sho Kusakabe will appear behind you.
Feathers will start to fall down your screen and Sho will suddenly spawn with question marks above his head. You’ll then be teleported to the Wilderness where Sho will ask you to complete a mission. In short, you need to feed the child NPC a bug. The child’s head will then turn into flames, leading onto your next task to defeat them.
Once you have defeated the child, Sho will then allow you to join the White Clad faction.
Whether you opt to join the Fire Force or White Clad faction, all quests can be found via the Phone.
The best way to Awaken is to first reach Rank 1. The easiest way to reach Rank 1 is to complete quests! Next, you need to fight… a lot. Leveling White Clad can also be made easier by taking on missions from the NPC, Crook, who can be found in The Slums.
