Let’s get to know each character better! If you’ve already played Final Fantasy 7, or you’re familiar with the game, you’ll probably recognise a few of these characters.
Cloud Strife is the main protagonist in Final Fantasy 7. He’s first introduced as a mercenary for hire in Midgar who is aiding the anti-Shinra organisation, Avalanche. After completing the mission, they head back to the Sector 7 Slums to the Seventh Heaven bar, where he is reunited with his childhood friend, Tifa Lockhart. As a former SOLDIER: First Class, they haven’t seen each other for many years.
Barrett Wallace is a member of the anti-Shinra organisation, Avalanche. He’s a passionate member who has a deep disdain for the entirety of Shinra. When starting Final Fantasy 7, Barrett is part of the initial group that is accompanied by the mercenary, Cloud Strife. While Barrett puts up a tough front, he’s a doting father to his daughter, Marlene.
While running the Seventh Heaven bar in the Sector 7 Slums, Tifa Lockhart is also a member of Avalanche. She’s passionate about making the world a better place, but she tends to worry about the repercussions more than the other members of Avalanche. We later find out that Tifa and Cloud are childhood friends who were separated when Cloud become a SOLDIER. Tifa seems to be one of the only people that can get Cloud to let his guard down.
Aerith resides in the Sector 5 Slums where she spends her days looking after the residents. Helping out with jobs, taking care of the children, and gardening are her main activities throughout the week. She adores flowers and hands one to Cloud the first time they meet. They’re soon reunited during the night of the Sector 1 reactor bombing.
Red XIII was previously held captive in Professor Hojo’s lab as he conducted research on the beast. With sharp claws, fangs, and a flaming tail, Red XIII may look terrifying, but he can easily communicate with humans.
Zack Fair is an aspiring Shinra SOLDIER: Second Class. He dreams of becoming a SOLDIER: First Class one day, just like Cloud. Zack left his hometown to travel to Midgar to achieve his aspirations of becoming a renowned hero.
Glenn Lodbrok is a Shina SOLDIER: P0 Class who primarily volunteers himself for missions in enemy territory. New to the world of being a leader, he takes his friends to Rhadore isles to test the waters.
