Feeding Frenzy is a puzzle game by Incubator Games. Various food pieces litter the game board, and you tap on animals to make them gobble up their favorite vittles.
It’s an easy game to learn, but learning how to achieve a high score can be tricky. Here are five tips to help you out.
Feeding Time lets you choose a badge before the start of a stage. Badges provide varying benefits that can help you net higher scores. Think about how you play before you make your decision. Are you an impulsive tapper? Select a badge that offers hints on where you should tap next. Are you a beginner? Try a badge that increases the number of power-ups on the board. Are you more focused on tapping game pieces than power-ups? Go for a badge that lets you detonate a power-up after the round has ended.
Succeeding in Feeding Time is all about speed, speed, speed. Don’t merely tap on an animal, watch them eat, and then tap on another when they’re finished. Once you set one animal in motion, immediately move on to the next. Don’t stop the music!
Power-ups pop up on Feeding Time’s game grid from time to time. They provide different effects, including bombs that clear the board of a certain food item (and feed them to the relevant animal), and icons that shuffle all the present tiles.
It’s not always a good idea to immediately lunge for these power-ups. For instance, shuffling the board or using the tile-unifying lawnmower can ruin food patterns that were perfectly fruitful to begin with. Try saving power-ups for instances when the food patterns are fragmented. You can also earn and use a badge that lets you use one of your power-ups after the round has ended, allowing you to sneak in some additional points.
Mutation potions change fragmented food items into a single item, which helps set the board for a big feeding frenzy. However, don’t tap the potion if one or more of your animals is already chowing down on a long chain of food. The transformation effects of the potion will be truncated.
When the animals clear the board of their relevant food items, the remaining game pieces shuffle in to fill the gaps. Try and visualize how those game pieces will move into the blank spaces. It can help you set up big feeding frenzies for other animals.
