Quick Start Guide

Getting Started

Farm Story 2

  • Farm Story 2 is free to play. You can download it by clicking the “Play Now!” button at the top of this page.
  • When you start the game, you’ll be given the option of receiving push notifications. You can change this option later.
  • A quick, interactive tutorial then instructs you on Farm Story 2‘s basic controls and goals. You learn how to plant crops, collect them, raise animals, bake goods, and sell them to stores.
  • When you have the basics down, you’re turned loose to build up your farm however you see fit.

How to Play

Farm Story 2

  • Objective – Now that we’ve explored the basics of Farm Story 2, we’ll get deeper into how the game works. The object of Farm Story 2 is to make loads of cash through harvesting, baking, and animal husbandry. You begin with a small plot that lets you plant some basic crops and raise a few cows and chickens. As you level up, you can access more resources, expand your territory, and explore remote parts of your farm.
  • Tasks – If you’re ever unsure about what you should do next, icons at the top-left corner of the screen suggest important tasks that need to be completed.
  • Farm Overview – The wheel icon on the bottom left corner of the screen lets you access your farm overview, which gives you a general overview of what you own, and how things are going. You can also name your farm on this screen.
  • Coins and Gems – In Farm Story 2, you earn coins by collecting rent from your buildings and making deliveries. Coins can be used to purchase many items at the market (the store icon at the bottom of the screen). Gems are the game’s hard currency, and can be acquired via a purchase with real money. Gems can be used to purchase rare items at the market, or to speed up processes that take time.

Planting and Harvesting Crops

Farm Story 2

  • Lay Down Plots – No plots, no crops. You can buy plots at the market. You’re limited in how many plots you can own. The larger your farm, the more plots you can purchase.
  • Plant Seeds – You’re gifted some seeds at the start of the game. For every seed you plant, you harvest two products. For example, if you plant one corn, you’ll harvest two ears.
  • Harvest Time – Crops grow to maturity after a certain amount of time. Once you harvest, you can use the products to grow more crops, make animal feed, sell for a profit, or bake into recipes.
  • Storage – The crops you harvest are stored in your silo. The silo has a limited capacity that can be expanded if you have the proper materials in your inventory.

Farm Animals

Farm Story 2

  • Cow and Chicken – Animals are an important part of your farm; they produce ingredients that you can sell or implement in recipes. You must buy the animals’ pens at the market before you can purchase the actual animals (also at the market). For instance, cows need a cow pasture, and chickens need a chicken coop.
  • Collect Stuff – Your animals produce milk, eggs, etc., at certain intervals. It’s time to collect when they begin to act restless.
  • Feed ‘Em – Once you’ve collected, your animals won’t produce until you’ve fed them. You can make feed by putting crops through your farm’s mill. At the beginning of the game, your mill can grind up two bags of feed at once. You can expand your mill when you collect the necessary items to do so.

The Kitchen

Farm Story 2

  • Cooking – You can combine crops and animal products in the kitchen to make sellable items like biscuits and cornbread. Dishes take time to bake. As with most processes in Farm Story 2, you can speed up processes by using diamonds, the game’s hard currency.
  • Storage – The food you cook is stored in your barn, along with supplies like paint, nails, and animal feed. You can upgrade your barn’s capacity if you have the necessary materials.

Deliveries

Farm Story 2

  • The Plane – Making deliveries via plane is your main means of making money in Farm Story 2. Deliveries can also help you score rare items and deeds that are necessary to expand your farm.
  • Order Warehouse – Tap on the order warehouse to make deliveries. If you have the necessary items in stock, the order list will be marked with a checkmark. Deliveries take time to complete.

Expanding

Farm Story 2

  • Overgrown Farm – Much of your farm is overgrown when you begin playing. By expanding, you discover new structures, some of which can help make your farm more productive.
  • Make Deliveries – Most of the items you need to expand outwards can be found when you make deliveries. Some of these items are rare, however, and will take multiple deliveries to discover. If you’re impatient, you can buy the necessary items with gems.

Social Elements

Farm Story 2

  • Hi, Neighbor – There are numerous social elements in Farm Story 2. If you tap on the “Social” icon at the top of the screen, you can visit nearby farms.
  • Help Out – You can interact with buildings that have a heart over them to “help” your neighbor and improve your social rating.
  • Make Friends – When you’re visiting a neighbor, you can tap on the “Friend” icon at the bottom of the screen to turn the neighbor into a friend. Note that you need to sign up for a Storm8 account to register friends.
  • Leave a Message – Tap the notepad icon to leave a message on your neighbor’s wall. You can also receive messages by tapping your own envelope icon when you’re on your farm.
  • Go Home – Tap on the farmhouse icon to return to your own farm.
  • Take Pictures – Tapping the wheel icon at the bottom left of your screen gives you access to a camera, which you can use to take screenshots. You can save your picture, or post it directly to Facebook.
