Fake Island: Demolish! Strategy Guide – Best Hints, Tips and Cheats

By Harry Slater |

Fake Island: Demolish! is a game about blowing up iconic buildings by placing dynamite. It’s a destructive puzzler with some neat ideas that features some deeply cathartic explosions. That said, it can be pretty darn challenging, especially when you come up against a well-put-together structure.

And that’s where this guide comes in. We’ve played a good chunk of Fake Island: Demolish! and come up with a series of strategies that are going to help you out when things get tough. Use these suggestions to take your demolition career to the next level.

It doesn’t matter if you’re about to blow up your first tower or you’ve already sent several tumbling to the ground, you’re going to find something to help you out here. These are the best hints, tips and cheats for Fake Island: Demolish!

Learn from your mistakes

When a level doesn’t go to plan, look at where things went wrong and try not to repeat the same mistakes. Change up your plan for the next try and see if you can do better. Sometimes all it takes is a well-placed bomb to bring a massive building down.

You don’t always have to stagger

While staggering your explosions is a great way to push buildings in the right direction (downwards), sometimes you’re better off just letting everything go off at the same time. That’s especially true with the weaker buildings, which will usually topple with a single blast.

Wait and see

There’s a timer after your bombs go off, and it’s usually best to wait it out to see what happens. Sometimes it’s pretty obvious your explosions haven’t worked, but there are times when what looks like a fail can crumble into success before the timer hits zero.

Look for weak points

Some buildings have weak points that can be exploited. These might be gaps in the construction, or thin stands that are holding a lot of the weight. Check out the structure you have to bring down and think about where your dynamite is going to do the most useful damage.

Play the special levels

The special levels offer a decent level of challenge, and you don’t have to watch a video to play them. They’re well worth spending some time on. It might take a few tries to finish them off, but you’ll get a decent rush of success when you manage to bring some of those stronger towers down.
