Exorcist – Game Introduction

Welcome to the Exorcist walkthrough on Gamezebo. Exorcist is a hidden object/adventure game played on the PC created by Internium. This walkthrough includes tips and tricks, helpful hints, and a strategy guide to how to complete Exorcist.

Main Menu

• Top left-hand corner displays the current player’s name. Click on it to change between players or create a new player and start the game from the beginning.
• Play – Launches the game.
• Options – Adjust the volume for sounds, music and environment, mute all sounds or play in full screen mode.
• Help – Explains the basics of gameplay.
• Quit – Quit and close the game.

Gameplay and Tips

• This is a hidden object adventure game. You will move from location to location solving hidden object hunts, mini-puzzles and picking up items to use in order to proceed in the game.
• You will move from location to location, performing hidden object hunts, solving puzzles and finding inventory objects.
• Cursors:

• Normal cursor – No action can be taken by the normal cursor. In hidden object scenes, it is used to find the objects listed in black font.
• Action cursor – An action can be performed here, either just by clicking the mouse or using an inventory item.
• Look more closely – When you see this sparkling type cursor, click to investigate the area.
• Go to another location – This appears at the edge of the scene, clicking will take you to another location/scene.
• Inventory items:

• As you explore scenes and perform hidden object hunts, items will be added to your inventory.
• Your inventory bag is at the right-hand bottom of the screen. Click on it to open it and select an item.
  • If you have selected an inventory item and you need to put it bag, click on the inventory bag.
  • Tip: Unlike other games of this genre, the name of the inventory item is not displayed. This walkthrough will do its best to identify each item. Screenshots will be available as much as possible to avoid confusion.
• Hidden object hunts:

• A list of items to find appears at the bottom of the scene. Click on the item in the scene to cross it off the list.
• Items in blue are not immediately available without an action performed. For example, you may have to move a rock to get an item or use an inventory item.
• When you take an item from your inventory, the location to use it in the scene appears as a blue shadow.
• Hover your mouse over every aspect of a scene and watch for your cursor to change. Items collected will be added to your inventory. To use an inventory item, click on it (from the inventory) and click on the area it needs to be used.
• Hints:

• Click the skull in the bottom left corner. An item you are looking for will be highlighted or text at the top of the screen will tell you what to do.
• Hints are unlimited, you just have to wait for them to recharge in between uses.
  • Mini-puzzles – You can skip a puzzle after 60 seconds.
• There is no timer or point system.

How to Use this Walkthrough

• Hidden object hunts are different each time you replay the game. Screenshots will be provided however all the items to be found will not be circled (as they are different from game to game) however inventory items and action areas will be identified.
  • Note: The screenshot might not match what you need to find in your game. Use a hint if you are stuck.
• All inventory items in this walkthrough will appear in bold.
• Yellow circles – Inventory items to be picked.
• White circles – Action zones, areas to zoom in or mini-puzzle locations.
• Red circles – Pieces of Mephisto’s letters or Tarot card pieces.
• Note: Zooming in on areas opens small windows. Once you get the item or information you need, close it. The walkthrough will not include this instruction.

Scene 1: Dangerous Game

• The game starts with a tutorial. The caption tells you to click the space bar but clicking the left mouse button advances the tutorial. Pick up the lever and use it to get the lizard.

• Hidden object hunt – Find all the items.
  • The items listed in blue require an action or an inventory item in order to collect them.
  • After clicking on an item, watch what happens to it. It either fades away or it gets sent over to your inventory.
• The ladder is added to your inventory. Click your inventory and take the ladder and place it against the side of the house. Now you can click on the nest to take the egg and the secateurs (hedge clippers). Click the roof and a smaller window appears. Click on the moving spider. Click the X to close the window.
  • Note: The hidden object hunts are different from game to game. You may have to find objects different from this list.
• Once all the items have been collected, you can exorcize the demon. Click on it to make it leave.

• To repair the well, find the items listed. Then according to the instructions, repair the well by placing the bucket, lever and wheel on the well (these items are in your inventory).

• From your inventory, take the retort (glass bottle) and use it on the bucket to fill it with water (circled in white).
• Read Mephisto’s letter (circled in red), then find the pieces of his letter (also circled in red).
  • Note: You are not told how many pieces there are to locate. The game will tell you are done, for example, “Your work here is done,” means you picked up all the available pieces. The puzzle icon at the bottom of the screen gets a little more complete as you pick up letter pieces.

• Enter the house, either via the door or by clicking on the photo at the bottom of the screen.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play).
• Use the doorknob on the wall cabinet. Take the items inside. Use the pliers to take the nail.
• Use the pencil on the paper on the wall to write the number 13. Don’t forget to click on the 13 to cross it off the list.
• Once all the items have been collected, you can exorcize the demon. Click on it to make it leave.

• Find the items to make the holy water.
  • Finding the scattered pieces of the picture puts them back in the frame atop the wall cabinet. When it’s completed, click it to add it to your inventory. Take the key that is behind the frame.

• Use the oiler and the key to open the chest.
• Click on the small chest to start a mini-puzzle.

• Click the small dials in between the tiles to rotate them. At the start of the puzzle, follow the screenshot. If you’ve already started clicking the dials, exit the puzzle and return to it. Otherwise, start by positioning the tiles at the bottom and work your way up.

• Take the cross. Open your inventory. Click on the cross and place it on the retort full of water to make holy water.

• Find the pieces (2) of Mephisto’s letter.
• Click on the middle picture to go to the cemetery.

• Use the holy water on the gate.

• Find all the items, then enter the gates.

• Find all the letters to spell God Bless This Place. Once completed, take the piece of Mephisto’s letter that lands (circled in red), then click the puzzle icon to piece together a picture.
• To move a piece into the puzzle area, click on it. Right-click to rotate it. There is one piece already in place, start from that piece and add the others.

• Close the scene by clicking the X in the top right-corner.

Scene 2: Margarita’s House

• The scene opens to a hidden object hunt. It’s unique because there is one list however there are three areas to explore (circled in white above). It does not matter which section you start with, you’ll have to go back and forth between them to collect inventory items. Move between scenes by clicking the X at the top of the screen or click at the bottom of the scene to walk out.
• Start by clicking the bench (right).

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). The shovel is added to your inventory. Mephisto’s letter pieces are circled in red.
• Exit the scene and go to the house.
• Note: When you have found all the items in a scene, it’s no longer sparkling.

• Click the bike to continue the hidden object hunt.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play).
• The key will be added to your inventory.
• Leave the scene and go down one scene. Click on the mailbox.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play).
• Use the key top open the mailbox.
  • Warning: If you’re afraid of spiders, don’t watch as the mailbox opens but rest assured it’s gone after a few seconds.

• The can opener is added to your inventory. Take the piece of Mephisto’s letter (circled in red).
• Leave the scene and click on the bench.

• Use the can opener to open the can
• Once all the items have been collected, you can exorcize the demon. Return to the front of the house and click on it to make it leave.
• Click on the mailbox.

• Take the gear. Leave the scene and click on the bench.

• Take the gear. Leave the scene and go towards the house and click on the bike.

• Use the shovel on the pot and take the gear. Click to move the flower plant and take the gear.
• Leave the scene.

• Walk to the house.
• Place the gears in the appropriate location so they all turn when the doorknob is clicked on.

• The word Victoria appears under the door lock and has been added to your inventory.
• Enter the house

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Find the pieces of Mephisto’s letter (circled in red).

• Find the items to finish the painting, then go up the stairs.

• Click on the photo to start a mini-puzzle. Click on two tiles to switch their position.

• Find all the items.

• Once you’ve found everything (except Secret Word), place the spirit lamp (1) on the table, then place the plate (2) atop it, then place the red wax seal (3), then use the matches (4).
• The secret word (Curam) appears in the smoke. Click on it.
• Return downstairs and click on the large painting (right side).
• Dip the paintbrush in the appropriate colour and then click on the painting to use the colour. When finished, click the empty pot to clean the brush. Mix colours by clicking on one colour, then another.

• The name Amat appears on the canvas.

• Click the door.

• The combination is the amount of letters in the names. Click on the dials under the numbers to turn them. My combination was 4-8-5. I do not know if it’s different each time you play the game.
• Go through the door.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Find the pieces of Mephisto’s letter (circled in red).

• Once you’ve found all the mirror pieces, place them on the mirrors (when you have a mirror piece selected, the area where it should go turns green). Once they are all placed, the frame appears and you can take the broach and piece of Mephisto’s letter.
• Click the puzzle icon (circled in white) to piece together a picture.

Scene 3: Tavern Tussle

• Find the horseshoes. Find the pieces (2) of Mephisto’s letter (circled in red). Enter the tavern.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Find the pieces of Mephisto’s letter (circled in red).
• Once you’ve found all the items, you have to find the items to create a device.

• Find all the items.

• Take the cloth and use it on all the symbols. Go through the door.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Find the pieces of Mephisto’s letter (circled in red).

• Find all the tools. Once you’ve found all the tools, you have to fix the pipe. Click on the area circled in white.

• From your inventory, first place the tube (1) and nut (2), then use the wrench (3) to tighten it. Then use the lever (or socket wrench) (4).

• Use the lighter on the wall lamps (in the order listed in the screenshot).
• Walk down the hall.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Find the pieces (2) of Mephisto’s letter (circled in red).
• If you have to get two rats, one is already available. The other must be coaxed out with the piece of cheese. Place the cheese in front of the rat, when it comes out to get the cheese, click on it.

• Find the items to draw the demon out of the barrel. Once you’ve found the four items, click the area under the demon (circled in white).

• A mini-puzzle starts. You must pour the merlot and Sauvignon to make 12% holy wine. The trick is you can’t just reach 12%, you have to fill the bottle.
  • Solution: Merlot is M, Sauvignon is S. Click M-S-M-M-M-S-M-M.
• Click the puzzle icon to piece together a picture.

Scene 4: Stagecoach of the Damned

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). There are no inventory items nor Mephisto’s letter pieces, hence no screenshot needed.

Scene 5: Ghost of the Past (did it say 7?)

• Find the list of items. The daturna flowers are circled however the grigs (crickets/grasshoppers) and dragonflies move. Click on them as they hop or fly or sit to cross them off the list.
  • Tip: Don’t watch the edge of the scene waiting for the dragonflies to appear. They appear from the middle of the screen.
• Go to the house.

• Find the list of items.

• Find the parts for the lighthouse. Use the key to unlock the door. Take the two lenses.
• Leave the location.
• Go to the lighthouse.
• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play).

• Find the valve to add it to your inventory. Go up the stairs (circled in white).
• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play).

• Find the items. Go downstairs.

• Position the valve. Use the screwdriver to remove the panel (click on the five screws), then click on the panel.
• To solve the mini-puzzle, rotate the pipes so the oil has one continuous circuit to flow from the left of the screen to the right.
• Once complete, go upstairs.

• Position the wick, then the lenses.
  • Note: The Action cursor doesn’t appear until you select a lens from the inventory.
• Go downstairs and click on the sparkling area.

• Position the gear and chain.

• Find the pairs of items (remember that the list is different each play).
  • Note: I had to click on the shell on the rock many times before I was able to collect it (arrow pointing to it in screenshot).

• Find all the items (again, in pairs).

• On the tombstone, use the scraper (1) on all the moss. Use the chisel (2) to carve Margo’s full name and her birth year (three clicks), the place the portrait (was earlier called a broach) (3).

Scene 6: Orphanage

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play).
• The key will be added to your inventory.
• Instead of pieces of Mephisto’s letter, you will collect Tarot card pieces. They will be circled in red. There are two in this scene.
• Use the key on the gate’s lock.
• Enter the gate.

• Click on the fountain to start a hidden object hunt.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Find the Tarot card pieces (circled in red).

• Find the items. Once you have the three items circled, leave the area.

• Collect the rest of the items, then click the door.

• To repair the door, position the door knockers and rappers.

• Find one item (circled), then click the fireplace.

• Find the remaining items. The scene then turns into a hidden object hunt.
• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). None of the items become inventory items nor are there Tarot card pieces, hence no screenshot needed.
• Start a fire.

• First position the crumpled paper, then the wood, then use the matches.

• Position the candles. A hidden object hunt starts.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Find the Tarot card pieces (circled in red).
• Once you’ve found all the items, go into the other room (circled in white).

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Find the Tarot card pieces (circled in red).

• Find all the items, then fix the puppet show (circled in white).

• Position the items, then turn the key (circled in white). When the puppet on the bed is lifted, take the key, If you miss it, turn the key again and wait for the puppet to be lifted.
• Click the X to close the scene, then leave the room.

• Use the key to unlock the door. Go through the door.
• Find the list of items.
• Mini-puzzle. Find the differences between the two scenes.

• Find the item. Suddenly you change locations.

• Enter the ticket office (circled in white).

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Find the Tarot card pieces (circled in red).

• Find all the items. Once all the coins are collected, put them in the dish (circled in white). Take the ticket.
• Leave the location and click on the train.

• Take the Tarot card piece (circled in red).
• Take the wrench and use it to take seven nuts. When you are finished, click on the Locomotive sign (circled in white).
• Mini-puzzle. Click to move the tiles so that all the gears are connected and turning.
• Take the Tarot card pieces (circled in red).

• Click the X to leave the scene. Click down to leave the scene.
• Now EX90
• Take the red can. Leave the scene.

• Go north (white arrow).

• Click on the farther door (nearest the right).

• Click on all the keys and they will open the suitcases. Click on the demons to get rid of them.

• Take the pipe. Leave the scene.
• Click on the door on the left.

• The completed Tarot card makes the demon disappear.
• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play). Click the seat where the demon was sitting to zoom in on an area.

• Find the remaining items. The tea bag and tea pot are added to your inventory. Once you have everything but the hot tea, leave the area.

• Add the tea bag (1) to the cup, then use the tea pot (2) to fill it. Click on the cup to finish the list. Then take the lever.
• Leave the scene.

• Click the conductor valve on the wall. First place the lever, then the red can, then the pipe. Click on the lever to start the train.

Scene 7: Dark Forest

• Find some items (remember that the list is different each play). The machete is added to your inventory.
• Click the cabin to continue. Once you’ve found all the items, take the path into the forest (white arrow).

• Use the machete to clear a path (three clicks), then click on the demon.
• Mini-puzzle. Click to rotate the rings to complete a design. Each ring moves itself and another ring. Start with the outer rings and work inwards. I accidentally solved it before getting a screenshot but it’s a pentagram.
• Continue up the path.

• Click the cave (right) to start a hidden object hunt.

• Find the list of items. Once you have one of everything, leave the scene and click on the bushes.

• Find the list of items.
• Take the path on the right side of the scene.

• Click in front of the dock.
• Mini-puzzle. Use the two boards to get across the rocks to the other side (white star).

• Right-click to rotate the boards.
• Notice the foot prints (circled in white). This is where you are. You have to use the boards to move from rock to rock. Use the smaller board to move the feet to the first rock. Once you’ve positioned a board between two rocks, click on the rock you want to go to.

• You can use the board you just used. Remember to click the rock to move to it.
• Continue to the other side.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play), then click on your right side (circled in white).

• Click the screw to unscrew the box.

• Match the right weapons to the characters. Click the weapons to swap them.
  • Solution: From left to right, the weapons are the sword – pole axe – mace.
• Enter the gate.

Scene 8: Lair of the Beast

• Pull the lever (1), then click the stones (2).

• s the right combination of stones to cross the path. If you miss, Garret falls. For some reason, he screams like a woman.

• To fix the stairs, find the stair pieces (5), then go up the stairs.

• Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play).
• The stamp is added to your inventory. Use the stamp to open the chest (circled in white).
• Find the items inside the chest.
  • Note: The game should have these items in blue.

• Find the gems. Click the chest to find more.

• Click on the door.

• Place the gems in the symbol. When you select a gem, its proper location is highlighted in blue.
• Go through the door.

• Click the door (left). Find the list of items (remember that the list is different each play).
• Once you’ve found everything you can, leave the scene.
• Click the desk and find the rest of the items.
• Once you are done, the final scene begins.
