• Hank’s orbital barrage is great for clearing away monster tokens – Hank is the default “Yellow hunter.” His special skills are charged up by matching yellow tokens with a shield emblem stamped on them. • Sometimes it’s necessary to match up monster tokens – The longer you play a level, the more frequently monster tokens show up. Monster tokens cause monsters to attack out of turn if three or more are matched up too many times. You should obviously avoid them, but at the same time, they can really choke up the board if they’re not disposed of. Make a match once in a while to clear the air. Just don’t make more than three matches if it’s at all possible.
• Matching up bullets doesn’t charge your special attack meter, but the trade-off is worth it – Bullet tokens show up on the game board along with the regular game tokens. If you match three bullets, all your hunters will attack at once. Their special skill meters won’t charge up after making the attack, but the high-powered assault (which often hits more than one foe) is worth it.
• Markov’s Lightning Gun is extremely useful for delaying enemy attacks – Markov’s level two skill is “lightning gun,” which damages all enemies on-screen. It also delays the enemies’ attacks by one turn, which can be a literal life-saver.

• Don’t be shy about matching healing tokens – Many of the enemies in Evolve: Hunters Quest attack after a mere round or two of charge time, and even the small fry can inflict a nasty bite. Don’t “save” healing tokens: Match them up. Making matches also charges up Val’s med gun, which is necessary for fixing big messes.
• About to make a big match? Target the strongest enemy first – You can tap on an enemy to focus all your hunters’ attacks on that one target. This is a good thing to keep in mind if you’re about to match up four or more tokens for a strong attack and want to potentially take down a strong baddie.
