Enlightenus II: The Timeless Tower – Game Introduction

General Information

On the Main Menu, there are options to adjust the music volume, sound volume, and options for Full Screen or Windowed display. Click on the Player button to add, delete, or edit a user profile.
This is a reverse hidden object game, where instead of finding objects on a list, you are given a set of objects, and you’ll need to place them where they belong.
To find where an object belongs in the scene, pick it up and move it around the screen. Text labels will pop up over various areas. Use these clues to find the right match for the object.
The Hint button on the bottom left of the screen will show you where an object belongs. Pick up an object and drop it on the Hint button. Its matching object will be highlighted briefly.
Hints are unlimited and rechargeable. You’ll need to wait for the Hint meter to recharge before you can use another hint. However, using an Enlightenus (E) card will recharge the meter instantly.
There are two E cards hidden in each Clock World scene. There are also E cards contained in the letters from Clarence at the end of each floor. If you’ve collected all the E cards on Floor One, you should have 10 at the end of the level. The next four floors will give you 19 E cards, and Floor Six gives you 13 E cards, for a total of 99 E cards in the game.
You may exit a Clock World scene anytime by clicking on the Back button on the bottom right of the screen.
After completing a Clock World (hidden object) scene, you’ll receive an engraved clock piece. The clock pieces are not assigned to any specific hidden object scene. You’ll receive them in a fixed order regardless of which scene you do first.
To finish a level, you’ll need to arrange the clock pieces correctly in the Ageless Clock, on the bottom right of the screen. Place the pieces in the right categories according to the given clues.
If you’re missing a clock piece, it means you haven’t played all the Clock World scenes in that level. Backtrack to the various rooms to find all the clocks, some of which are hidden under objects. Make a clean sweep of the area by clicking on everything that sparkles.

Walkthrough

In the screenshots for the Clock World (hidden object) scenes, the objects are numbered from 1 to 8.
This is the suggested order for placing the objects into the scene, as there are some instances where a series of actions has to be done in the right sequence.
You begin the game with an Emerald Gem in your inventory, given to you by Clarence Flatt.

TOWER GROUNDS

Move closer to the tower.
Take the Emerald Gem from your inventory and place it on the deer’s neck.
Pick up the Enlightenus (E) cards and the Tower Emblem.
Place the Tower Emblem on the locked door.
Go through the open door.

Floor 1

CORRIDOR

Pick up the Sledgehammer from beside the clock.
Zoom in on the portrait to learn more about it. Click anywhere outside it to return to the room.
Go left to the Workshop.

WORKSHOP

Take the Owl Wings from the wall.
Place the Owl Wings on the owl statue.
Click on the sparkling clock on the cabinet to access the first Clock World scene.

MAYAN JUNGLE, 300 BC

Collect the 2 Enlightenus (E) cards.
Place the items on the following areas:

Stone Mask – Faceless Statue

AGELESS CLOCK

When completed, you’ll receive an Engraved Clock Piece.
Click on the Ageless Clock device on the bottom right of the screen.
Place the Durable Vault clock piece in the slot marked “I am used for securing valuables”.
Click the BACK button to return to the room.

WORKSHOP

Pick up the Hardcover Book from the top of the cabinet.
Zoom into the bookcase at the rear of the room.
Place the Hardcover Book on the empty space on the shelf.
The bookcase moves aside to reveal a hidden door.
Click on the sparkling door to play a Sketch puzzle.

SKETCH PUZZLE

Click on the buttons in the correct order, to achieve the objective “Don’t Get Electrocuted”.
The correct order is as follows: Tree, Cloud, Rain, Lightning.
Go through the open doorway.

PORTAL

Pick up the Gold Pendulum from the clock face on the right.
Take the Sledgehammer from your inventory and use it to break the crystal on the left.
Click on the sparkling clock face to access the second Clock World scene.

FORBIDDEN CITY, 1650 AD

Collect the 2 Enlightenus (E) cards.
Place the items on the following areas:

Lantern Symbol – Blank Red Lantern
Aromatic Incense – Incense Holder
Golden Key – Golden Lock
Home Improvement Fixers – Crooked Board
Chinese Brush – Blank Scroll

When completed, you’ll receive the Rusty Gate clock piece.
Open up the Ageless Clock and place it in the slot marked “I can usually be found in a garden.”

CORRIDOR

Exit the room by clicking downwards.
Click down again to go to the Corridor.
Take the Gold Pendulum from your inventory and place it on the grandfather clock.
Click on the sparkling clock face to access the third Clock World scene.

MEDIEVAL CASTLE, 450 AD

Collect the 2 Enlightenus (E) cards.
Place the items on the following areas:

Wooden Comb – Frizzled-Hair Princess

Open up the Ageless Clock and place it in the slot marked “I am at the entrance of a grand palace.”

PORTAL

Take the Enlightenus Key from the compartment that opens up.
Go left and then right to return to the Portal.
Use the Enlightenus Key on the large keyhole of the contraption.
Click on the open portal to enter Enlightenus World.

STAIRS

Read the sparkling letter on the desk.
Pick up the E card.
Click outside the frame to close it, and go up the stairs.
Examine the portrait of Clarence as a little boy.
Take the “Year 1935” Key from the right side of the portrait.
Use the “Year 1935” Key to unlock the door at the top of the stairs.
Go through the open door.

Floor 2

RAILWAY & DOLLHOUSE

Take note of the broken light above the tunnel, and the horse emblem on the door.
Go up the tunnel towards the Dollhouse.
Click on the sparkling clock on the castle to enter a Clock World scene.

BALLERINA DOOR PUZZLE

Click on the door at the back of the stage to solve a puzzle.
Find the matching pairs consisting of a body part and the apparel that goes with it (e.g. foot = shoe, hand = glove).
If the match is correct, an item will drop down on the shelf.
Next, arrange the items in the correct order according to the clues on the right (e.g. the tiara should be to the left of the wand).
Click on two items to swap their positions.
The correct order from left to right is as follows: Glove, Pink Toe Shoe, Tiara, Wand, Tutu, Orange Toe Shoe
Press the red button on the panel to open the backstage door.
Enter the room.

DOLLHOUSE

Place the paper horse on the horse engraving under the device.
Take the rooster-shaped Weather Vane from inside the glass case.
Go downward to exit to the front of the Dollhouse.
Place the Weather Vane on the roof of the Dollhouse.

FISH DOOR PUZZLE

Click on the sparkling fish panel on the door to solve a puzzle.
Open the circular windows on the top corners to find a cog and a puzzle piece.
Arrange the cogs in the slots below according to their number of pegs. The lights will turn red when the cogs are in the correct places.
Turn the ship’s wheel to proceed to the next part of the puzzle.
Place the missing puzzle piece into the horizontal panel and arrange the pieces to complete the landscape. Click on two pieces to swap their positions.
Go through the open door.

Pick up the Rose Emblem for Dish from the floor.
Examine the boat. It needs an oar.
Click on the row of books to reveal a clock.

Read the sparkling letter on the desk.
Pick up the E card, and go up the stairs.
Examine the portrait of Clarence with his family.
Take the “Year 1965” Key from the right side of the portrait.
Use the “Year 1965” Key to unlock the door at the top of the stairs.
Go through the open door.

Floor 4

SHOP FRONT

Take note of the grandfather clock with the missing hull.
Pick up the Canned Cat Food from the atop the glass counter.
Give the Canned Cat Food to the cat. Take the Antique Shop Key that the cat was sitting on.
Use the Antique Shop Key to unlock the shop door on the right.
Click on the sparkling clock on the signboard to enter a Clock World scene.

ANTIQUE SHOP

Enter the shop.
Click on the cash register to solve a puzzle.

CASH REGISTER

Use the four red buttons to rotate the numbers, until they are in their proper positions according to the sketch on the right. The solution for this puzzle is random.
First, try getting the bottom three numbers in place to get a feel of how it works. Next, work on the other edges.
If nearly all numbers are in place, but there is a number in the wrong position, isolate it by moving it to the center of the puzzle, then click on the red button diagonal to the one you just pressed. Restore the positions of the outer edges with the first button you pressed, then the second red button, so that you don’t disturb the numbers that are already in place. Repeat this pattern until all the numbers are in the proper positions.
If you’re completely stuck, click on the BACK button, and then click on the cash register again to get a fresh board. You may luck in on a board that’s easier to solve.
Or, you may skip the puzzle (but it will cost you two E cards).

ANTIQUE SHOP

When completed, take the Password Paper from the drawer of the cash register.
Click on the sparkling grandfather clock to enter a Clock World scene.

Place the Metallic Clock Hands on the face of the giant clock.
Take the Trap Door Key that appears at the very top of the clock.
Place the Owl Statue on the empty niche on the left.
A cabinet door opens to reveal another clock.
Click on the two sparkling clocks, above the pendulum and inside the cabinet, to enter two Clock World scenes.

Take the Gemmed Clock Hull from the compartment.

STAIRS

Go downwards twice to return to the Shop Front.
Place the Gemmed Clock Hull on the burning grandfather clock.
Go through the open door.
Read the sparkling letter on the desk.
Pick up the E card, and go up the stairs.
Examine the portrait of Clarence with his grown-up son.
Take the “Year 1985” Key from the right side of the portrait.
Use the “Year 1985” Key to unlock the door at the top of the stairs.
Go through the open door.

FACTORY ENTRANCE

Click on the sparkling clock on the left side of the door to enter a Clock World scene.
After that, click on the sparkling blue door to solve a puzzle.
When completed, go through the open door.

TRAVEL TO THE CASTLE

Your token is the golden crown on the bottom left.
The objective is to reach the castle without bumping into any of the knights.
Use the navigation jewels at the bottom to move from square to square.
Blue indicates you may move in that direction; pink means you may not.
The colored lines indicate the paths on which knights of that color travel.
The movement is turn-based. You’ll need to anticipate their next moves and avoid them.
There are several solutions. A suggested one is: Right – Right – Up – Right – Left – Up – Up – Up – Right – Right

ELEVATOR LOBBY

Examine the various locked doors to see what is required to open them.
Take note of the instruction manual for operating an intricate machine.
Pick up the Joystick from the floor.
Click on the upper elevator button on the right to reveal another clock.

Go through the open door and watch the ending scene.

Bonus Adventure

Congratulations! You have completed the basic chapters of Enlightenus II: The Timeless Tower.
To play the Bonus Adventure, go to the Main Menu and click on the Clock Tower. This is only available in the Collector’s Edition.
The Bonus Adventure consists of 5 rooms and 9 Clock World (hidden object) scenes.
Upon completing the chapter, you will have access to wallpaper, concept art, music, additional sketch puzzles, and the full version of the game Forgotten Riddles: The Mayan Princess.
