Dungeon Dogs is the spiritual sequel to Castle Cats, and follows a similar idle pattern. You’re collecting canine warriors, sending them on quests and earning more goodies as they fight.

It’s a pretty simple system, but there are a whole load of extra layers to the experience that you’re going to have to get to grips with if you’re going to get the most out of the game. Don’t worry though, because that’s exactly what this guide is about.

We’ve put a good few hours into Dungeon Dogs and we’ve got your back. If you’ve got your own helpful suggestions to share then make sure you add them in the comments section at the bottom of the article.

Before that, though, here are our best hints, tips and tricks for Dungeon Dogs.

Use Your Dogs

It’s tempting to just play the story missions and leave it at that. But you need to make sure you’re toughening pup all of your canine friends, not just the ones that get to go on the main quest lines.

Instead, send off as many dogs as you can, as often as you can, on side quests. These will get you more rewards and they’ll upgrade your dogs and make them stronger for when you might need them.

Get Your Rewards

Make sure you grab all of your rewards whenever you can. There’s a lot of them, spread out across most of the homescreen, so check regularly to see what goodies are waiting for you.

The more loot you’ve got, the stronger you can make your dogs. The stronger you can make your dogs, the better you’re going to do and the more loot you’re going to get. That’s the basic math behind Dungeon Dogs.

Look At Your Missions

You’re going to complete missions just by playing, but you can speed things along by checking out what the game wants you to do. That way you’re getting a steady stream of loot and you’ll be getting new missions too.

Anything that can give you an edge is worth doing, and finishing missions is definitely going to give you an edge. Often you’ll get a bunch of rewards while completing them too, which is even better.

Don’t Forget To Craft

Making potions and new heroes is a good idea. Check the Alchemy menu to see what you can build, what it’s going to cost and what’s going to unlock as you get deeper into the game.

Crafting weapons is a great way to take down levels quickly. You can make potions and other buffs to help you out as well. Remember to grab your crafting materials from your little garden when they’re full as well.
