I’ve only played Drain the Lake solo, so even though I’m here to tell you the average completion time for each of the Drain the Lake Endings, your final time may differ. After all, more players = more efficient draining.

Drain The Lake Endings

Phone Ending

To unlock the Phone Ending, you need to reach the 7th Checkpoint and continue draining the lake a little bit further down until you see your phone glistening on a rock. It has the same white particle effect as underwater chests, making it fairly simple to see.

Interacting with the phone will trigger a cutscene and end the campaign, awarding all participants with their completion timestamp, Diamonds, and badges (if not already unlocked).

  • Find my Phone (Badge)
    • Rarity: 4.5 stars (blue badge)
    • Diamonds earned: 140

The average completion time for the Phone Ending on solos is 20-25 minutes, if you invest and max out your Skill Tree during the session, and play consistently. (time may vary for you depending on how you play.)

Secret Treasure Ending

Past Checkpoint 7, if you ignore your phone, you can continue plunging further into the lake to Checkpoint 10, which unveils a strange secret door and sigils on the ground. Before this, you’ll also encounter a new enemy in the waters, which replaces the now deceased shark, the angler fish.

This enemy swims a little quicker and bites harder, draining more stamina if you’re caught. However, making it to the door and opening it will reveal a vault of treasure and gold. Collecting it will trigger the Secret Treasure Ending and conclude the campaign, showing participants their timestamps, Diamonds earned, new badges collected, and a bucket (if not already unlocked).

  • Hidden Treasure (Badge)
    • Rarity: 4.5 stars (yellow badge)
    • Diamonds earned: 150
  • Jewel Bucket
    • A prize for completing the Secret Treasure Ending for the first time.
    • +30% Token Earnings and pours can turn up Diamonds.

The average completion time for the Secret Treasure Ending on solos is 35 minutes, if you invest and max out your Skill Tree during the session, and play consistently. (time may vary for you depending on how you play.)

Drowning/Shark/Angler Fish

If you get bitten by the Shark or Angler Fish whilst in the lake, your stamina rapidly drains. If it reaches 0 (as seen by the bar on the right of your vision when in the water), you will drown. On easy mode, you have two lives before dying.

If you have Diamonds to spare, you can revive or fail the campaign and head back to the lobby to start again. This ending isn’t a true ending, but it is worth mentioning as it does end the game.

No completion time or rewards.

This guide pairs nicely with my article answering how many checkpoints there are in Drain the Lake.

We also have more, such as my Drain the Lake Bucket Tier List and my guide on how to earn Diamonds in Drain the Lake. Or, check out what my coworker made in her Drain the Lake Badges guide, detailing how to unlock all awards and their Diamond value.

Or, start draining that lake via Roblox.
