How To Encounter The Doors Groundskeeper

The Groundskeeper appears frequently around The Great Outdoors, a subfloor of the Hotel. Each time you encounter him, he will stalk his way around the enclosed garden, dragging along a scythe. He hunts and pierces any player who disobeys his only request. One which he frequently breaks himself whilst on patrol.

He typically appears at 2,500 metres (the beginning), and will randomly appear until at 0 metres (the end).

Surviving The Groundskeeper

Unlike other entities within Doors, the Groundskeeper is a relatively easy mob to avoid. He isn’t naturally hostile towards players unless they step on the grass. This is hinted at in each garden with signposts displaying a foot stepping on grass crossed out in a circle. So long as you and your team remain on the dirt cobbled path, you’ll survive.

But, this isn’t always possible since reaching new areas often requires a little bit of grass stomping. So, how do you get around this?

Patience. If the Groundskeeper isn’t looking at you, you have a small window to make haste across the grass before he turns to observe you again. If he sees you step on his precious grass, he will let out a bellowing roar and give chase to the defiant player.

He’s much faster than the player when sprinting, so if you’re unlucky enough to trigger his attack, you need to quickly hide from him or enter a wooden cabin.
