Does weather work in private servers in Grow a Garden 2? Well… wouldn’t you like to know? I’ve done some trials and testing to bring you the answer in this player-made guide, exploring Private Server mechanics and how weather and events interact with them.

Let’s get into it!

Does Weather Work in Private Servers in Grow a Garden 2?

In short, yes, weather still works in Private Servers.

Weathers are global, meaning all servers experience the same weather at the same time. That said, they’re still pretty rare due to the limited availability as of release, so you could go hours without experiencing anything.

To track the weather, I recommend visiting the gag.gg website, an official hub for the current time-cycle and other fun features.

Weather vs Events

One thing some players confuse is weather versus events. Whilst the weather is global, events are RNG-based and scale based on how many players are in a server. This means you’re far less likely to experience an event whilst in a private server than another player in a full server.

Events happen exclusively at nighttime, often with rewards that spawn outside of your garden to encourage you to leave and risk your produce. In contrast, Weather happens exclusively during the day, when your garden is guaranteed safe.

I explored this more in my guide on Can You Get Gold Seeds in Private Servers in Grow a Garden 2, but in short, events happen during the night cycle exclusively and have a higher chance with more people in a server. To increase your odds of getting events such as Midas, Rainbow, or Blood Moon, you need to invite trusted friends to your private server or fill up slots with proxy accounts.

The Perks of Privacy

Private servers are free and a secure way to avoid the pesky nighttime thieves that prowl around gardens, looking for ripe produce to steal. This is a double-edged sword as it means you also can’t go on stealth missions to steal from richer players, but at least you’re guaranteed security.
