Disney Magic Kingdoms just received its latest huge update that introduces The Lion King and DuckTales characters into the mix. Alongside this is an upcoming Tower Challenge event, new Permanent Tales, Attraction Enchantments, Enchanted Chests, and a whole load of rebalancing.

To help make this update a little more palatable, we’ve rounded up the biggest new features and tried to explain exactly what it is that’s changed in the latest update. That way, you can easily make sense of the changes and how they relate to you.

Disney Magic Kingdoms – Update 31 Guide:

New – Characters:

The new update celebrates The Lion King and DuckTales, so it makes sense that there are a bunch of new characters from both of those properties joining the huge pool. Here’s the full list:

  • Scrooge McDuck
  • Huey
  • Louie
  • Dewey
  • Shenzi
  • Banzai
  • Ed

New – Attractions:

Alongside the new characters are some brand new attractions too. You can purchase these as usual and place them in your theme park once unlocked. Here’s the full list:

  • The Money Bin
  • Animal Rice Cracker Stand
  • Chocolate Crocodile Stand
  • Prideland Punch Stand
  • DuckTales Float

New – Attraction Enchantments:

Attractions can now be enchanted, providing permanent effects that unlock a bunch of extra bonuses – the king among which is access to more Tokens. You can enchant an attraction up to five times, and at max enchantment the attraction has a chance to drop two tokens.

To enchant an attraction, you need to collect a bunch of special Blueprint and Relic Tokens. Blueprints come in five different rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary, while Relic Tokens are unique to each attraction.

Attraction Enchantments aren’t available for all attractions just yet though. Right now you can only unlock enchantments for Mickey and Friends and Toy Story Collections.

As part of this update, Attractions will now drop Tokens up to a character’s max level requirement, rather than when they’re ready to level up.

New – Enchanted Chests

Enchanted Chests now come in a variety of different types to help you focus on getting more of the items you actually need. These are the types:

  • Decoration Chest
  • Resource Chest
  • Concessions Chest
  • Attraction Enchantment Chest

As part of this update, Enchanted Chests will no longer be cursed either, allowing you to open them immediately. This change has resulted in the removal of the Chest Vault, so all players that spent Gems or Magic to create new Chest Storage slots will be reimbursed when the Chest Vault is removed as part of a future update.

Aside from Decoration Chests, all chests will have a 10% chance to drop a bonus reward too.

Upcoming – Tower Challenge Event:

The new Tower Challenge event isn’t live in Disney Magic Kingdoms yet. It will kickstart on July 9 and starts The Lion King’s Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed, who are on a mission to make the Magic Kingdom laugh, among some other dastardly ideas. You have to try and stop them, of course.
