Disney Magic Kingdoms has just received its biggest update for a while, introducing two new collectible characters from the Aladdin universe: The Sultan and Rajah.
Much like with previous updates, you can unlock the new characters by completing the Tower Challenge event. This is split up into three different chapters, each of which will run during different periods.
In this guide, were going to detail how to unlock both of these new characters, including a complete guide on how to complete the new Tower Challenge event.
Disney Magic Kingdoms: How to Unlock The Sultan and Rajah
The Sultan is a brand new premium character that you can purchase for as long as the Tower Challenge event is active.
To get Rajah though, you’ll need to actually complete the Tower Challenge event. This is split up into three different chapters, with each chapter running at different times:
- Chapter 1: May 23 – 28
- Chapter 2: May 28 – June 2
- Chapter 3: June 2 – 7
To unlock Rajah, you’ll have to complete all three chapters by June 7. The actual event takes place in Maleficent’s Tower, and involves you trying to deactivate three crystals – one per each chapter – to destroy Maleficent’s Tower.
You’ll have to regularly Challenge the Tower to earn Event Points, which will fill a progress bar. Fill it completely, and one of the crystals will deactivate, completing a chapter.
So, basically, just Challenge the Tower as often as you can during each chapter’s period, and make sure that you deactivate each crystal before the event ends.
There’s another reason to Challenge the Tower, and that’s to get your hands on Maleficent Coins. This is a special event currency that you’ll need to purchase Rajah as soon as you’ve completed all three chapters.
We also recommend performing the limited-time event quests, marked in purple. These will only be available for the duration of the event, when they’ll disappear. It’s worth performing them as you can get Refresh Tokens and more.
Finally, tap on any Attractions that have turned purple to earn extra Maleficent Coins. It’s worth checking back often to see if any new Attractions have turned purple.
We won’t know exactly how much Rajah will cost until the event has ended though, so for now just collect as many as you can. There’s a leaderboard for each chapter that will provide you with bonus rewards depending on where you rank:
| Rank | Rewards |
| 1-50 | Maleficent Horns Stand, 1,000 Maleficent Coins, 2 Refresh Tokens |
| 51-150 | 1,000 Maleficent Coins, 2 Refresh Tokens |
| 151-300 | 800 Maleficent Coins, 2 Refresh Tokens |
| 301-500 | 700 Maleficent Coins, 2 Refresh Tokens |
| 501-750 | 600 Maleficent Coins, 2 Refresh Tokens |
| 751-1,000 | 500 Maleficent Coins |
| 1,001-1,400 | 350 Maleficent Coins |
| 1,401-1,950 | 200 Maleficent Coins |
Everything You Need to Know About the Tower Challenge:
To participate in the Tower Challenge, you have to unlock California Screamin’ and Pirate Mickey.
You can then send up to five characters to Challenge the Tower. If successful, they’ll return shortly with Event Points and Maleficent Coins.
The characters you can send are determined by the Collection listed by the Character Slots. This will change during each chapter so bear that in mind.
Each character can only Challenge the Tower once per day before they become tired. At that point, you’ll either have to wait for the reset (15:00 GMT) or use a Refresh Token to immediately restore them.
