Dancing Road is a brand new rhythm action game that’s so well suited to the mobile platform. It’s basically Guitar Hero except you bounce a ball into same coloured balls to collect them, gaining a higher score the more balls you collect. Ideally, you don’t want to miss a ball as it resets your multiplier. To get the highest score, you’ll need to hit everything, as even missing a single ball can have a huge negative impact on your final score.

There are a bunch of different real life songs to unlock as you play, and the challenge really ramps up the further in you get. Balls will start moving to the music, for example, which makes collecting them seriously challenging at times. Fortunately, we’re here with this beginner’s guide to give you a few tips and tricks on how to get the perfect score.

Dancing Road Tips and Tricks:

  • How Dancing Road works: Basically, Dancing Road is like Guitar Hero. You’ll swipe to guide a coloured ball left and right on a lane, with the ball automatically moving forward. The ball has a certain colour and you have to collect balls of the same colour along the lane to earn points. The more balls you collect in a row, the higher your multiplier climbs. Miss a ball and your multiplier resets. If you try and collect a ball of a different colour, you’ll crash and it’s game over. Also, your ball will change colour several times throughout each level, usually when you go over a ramp. The ramp is the same colour as the ball though, so you’ll have an idea of what’s about to happen.
  • Keep your multiplier up: If high scores are a priority for you, you’ll want to make sure to collect as many balls as possible during a run – preferably all of them. That sounds like an obvious tip, and it is, but your multiplier resets if you miss a ball and that will seriously hamper your score.
  • The ramps denote the change of colour: Whenever you go over a ramp, your ball’s colour changes. Fortunately, the ramp is the same colour as the ball change, so you can prepare ahead for the change and line yourself up nicely.
  • Watch out for moving balls: Balls will occasionally move with the music – particularly during later levels. When you encounter balls that move back and forth across the lane, we recommend trying to catch them as they bounce off the wall on one side. If you chase them, chances are they’ll bounce off the wall and avoid you entirely. If you predict the bounce, you can’t lose.
  • Spend your coins on new songs: You won’t unlock new songs by completing levels in Dancing Road. Instead, you have to purchase them with coins you collect by completing levels. Occasionally, you can also collect coins during a level instead of balls. Grab these whenever possible.
