Dancing Race is another of those auto-runners that sees you weaving through obstacles, collecting things and trying to get to the finish line without falling over. It’s got a few twists that keep things interesting, though, so we thought it was a good idea to write you this guide.

It’s packed full of the strategies we’ve discovered during our time with Dancing Race. These suggestions are designed to make sure you’re getting the most out of the experience, and they should get you to the finish line every time you play.

Whether you’ve already boogied down the walkway or you’re strapping on some unfeasible platform shoes for the first time, you’re going to find something here to help you out. Here are the best hints, tips and cheats for Dancing Race.

Get the right shoes

You need to pick up the right shoes to extend your platform. There’ll be two different sets on each level, one for you and one for your opponent. Ignore your opponent’s shoes and always go for your own. You’ll need to collect every pair if you want to get to the end, so prioritize them over anything else.

Look for the lowest wall

Whenever you come up to a wall, you need to make sure you’re going over the lowest part of it. This will knock the least height off your shoes, and put you in the best position to get over the next obstacles that the game throws at you. You’re going to lose some of your height – it’s up to you to make sure you’re losing as little of it as possible.

Get the coins

Your second collecting focus should be on the coins. If getting them means you’ll miss out on shoes, then don’t get them. Otherwise, pick up all of the coins that you can. The more coins you get, the more new costumes and shoe-styles you can unlock.

Careful on the balance beams

When you’re on the single balance beams, you need to be careful that you don’t teeter over. When you’re on the beam, you need to make sure you’re not leaning too far in one direction. These sections might be short, but if you get them wrong you’re going to fail the level and have to retry.

Should you increase your haul?

At the end of each run you get the chance to watch a video to get more coins. If you’re desperate to get new costumes and shoes, then by all means take it. But bear in mind they don’t change anything about the gameplay, and adverts are horrible.
